Danny Jones’ proud mother Kathy predicts McFly star will WIN I’m A Celeb as she reflects on his ’emotional rollercoaster’ jungle experience so far

Danny Jones’ proud mum Kathy has predicted the McFly star will be crowned King Of The Jungle.

The celebrities’ families arrived in Brisbane on Tuesday ahead of the upcoming deportations.

As Kathy landed at the airport, she reflected on Danny’s, 38, “emotional rollercoaster” jungle experience so far.

She told me The mirror: ‘I was laughing at him with the snake in his pants and the next day I cried.

‘It affected me a bit. I’m so proud of him… I think he could win, and for the North.”

She also told MailOnline: ‘Danny is great, he’s doing great. I loved the hose in his pants and it’s really unusual for him not to wash his pants for three days, he’s usually very hygienic.

‘He’s the nicest man I know, apart from Harry, Danny and Tom [McFly] they are also very nice.’

The mother-of-two revealed she hadn’t heard from his bandmates but had seen their videos on social media and loved them.

Her arrival in Australia comes after Danny broke down in tears as he opened up about his lifelong fear during Wednesday night’s episode.

Danny was overcome with emotion as he discussed his mental health with his campmates and admitted he had been receiving therapy since he was 19.

Fans praised the star for being so honest and open about his mental health after Strictly’s Oti Mabuse, 34, highlighted the importance of men talking about their feelings.

During the highly emotional conversation, Oti was moved to tears as she revealed that her half-brother Neo had committed suicide and admitted that he would probably still be alive if “he had spoken to someone about what he was feeling.”

Danny explained that one of his tattoos says ‘Don’t worry, be happy’ and said: ‘It’s because I’m always worried all the time, but I’m working on that.

‘I’ve been in therapy for anxiety since I was 19.’

She said: 'I was laughing looking at him with the snake in his trousers and the next day I was crying. It touched me a bit.

Danny recalled a moment when he had a panic attack on live television while being interviewed.

He said: I panicked and couldn’t answer the question I was asked. [My] Heart rate is going crazy.”

When Jane asked if he thought he suffered from childhood anxiety or from being in a band, he said, “I think I’ve escaped a lot.”

It comes after Danny’s ‘estranged’ father lifted the lid on their decades-long rift for the first time, revealing he hasn’t seen the star in 18 years.

In an exclusive interview with MailOnline, Alan Jones, 72, believes an acrimonious divorce from Danny’s mother Kathy has affected his relationship with his son, who he describes as a ‘sweet boy’ with a ‘heart of gold’.

He claims they had an ‘excellent’ band during the McFly guitarist’s youth in Bolton and that he ‘dedicated his life’ to helping launch his successful music career.

The radio DJ, who now lives in Benidorm with his current wife Sharon, is yet to meet his six-year-old grandson Cooper, who Danny shares with his wife and former Miss England Georgia Horsley, but he is hopeful that ‘one day it will happen’ and that he ‘finally gets that beer with his son’.

Danny never visited his father in Spain, where he moved in 2016, and Alan did not attend his daughter Vicky’s wedding last year.

Alan was also not invited to Danny’s wedding to Georgia in 2014.

From his radio station in L’Alfas del Pi, Alan explained how his marriage to Kathy failed when Danny and Vicky left home in the early 2000s.

Danny was in London after signing with Tom Fletcher to a record label to form the band McFly – which would go on to sell more than 10 million records worldwide.

Alan said: ‘It should have been a time when marriage got a little closer, but it didn’t.

‘I can’t explain why, but that didn’t happen, so we had two really bad years. Danny even saw this with his sister and they wrote a song about it… and then I met Sharon and that was it.”

Danny was 19 when Alan left the family in 2005, and has previously revealed how he sought therapy for his anxiety over the incident.
