Can’t afford a Dyson Airwrap? Coles sends beauty fans running over its new $99 ‘dupe’: ‘I need this’

Coles shoppers are ‘overwhelmed’ to discover what they say is an affordable alternative to Dyson’s Airwrap at just a fraction of the price.

Laila Cookefrom Melbourne, got her hands on the $99 hair styling tool as part of the supermarket’s Best Buys sale.

The beauty gadget comes with the five attachments you need to create voluminous curls, natural waves and smooth blow-dry finishes.

After washing her hair, Laila decided to give the device a try to see if it was worth the money.

“It’s not as grippy as the real Dyson – but certainly does the job,” she said in her assessment after trying the product, claiming: “PSA Aussie girlies – $99 Dyson Airwrap dupe at Coles – thank me later.”

She started with the blow-dryer attachment, taking her hair from wet to damp while alternating between medium and high heat.

“I’m actually quite impressed,” Laila said.

‘It didn’t feel very strong, but it did dry my hair quite quickly. I’m going to say it lasted about two to three minutes?’

Then she moved on to the “best” part: the curling barrel attachment, a tool known for creating loose, bouncy waves.

“I’m quite happy with the curls, I think it’s good,” she said.

To hold curls and add volume to her hair, she placed each section in a roller after using the barrel attachment on it.

“I’m going to do the rest of my hair (like this),” she explained.

After styling her hair with the tool, she removed all the rollers from her locks to reveal salon-quality curls.

‘Considering I got this from my local supermarket I’m quite impressed and would recommend it,’ said Laila.

The hair styling tool is only available for a limited time, so you’ll have to be quick.

‘I work at Coles. Every Friday I put in all the new Best Buys products. There were only about six per store. Once sold, they only come back a year later,” said an employee under the video.

Laila’s video has been viewed more than 155,000 times, with many saying they couldn’t wait to get their hands on one.

“OMG obsessed,” said one.

‘Go away! I’m so impressed,” another shared.

“I need this,” one person revealed.

Meanwhile, many shoppers rushed to Coles to get their beauty fix.

‘I ran to Coles at eight in the morning but they were sold out. So I ran to another store and bought it,” one person shared.

“This is great because I can buy it and my husband will think I went grocery shopping,” another joked.

‘I saw this and immediately went and bought one. Can’t wait to test it out,” one person added.
