Daniel Jones ‘will announce his next team imminently’ amid significant interest for ex-Giants QB

According to a new report, Daniel Jones’ next team will be announced soon.

Jones, the former Giants quarterback who was benched last week and subsequently released by the team, has attracted a lot of interest as a new free agent.

And according to Josina AndersonJones will inform the teams of his decision tomorrow.

Anderson added that Jones had “zeroed” his choice for his next team.

Previous reports have indicated that Jones preferred to end the season with a team in the playoffs Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports saying the 2-9 Raiders had been eliminated from his consideration.

Still, Anderson noted that Las Vegas — which just lost quarterback Gardner Minshew II to a collarbone injury this season — is interested in the 27-year-old Jones.

Additionally, Jones has been linked to the likes of the Vikings, Ravens and 49ers, whose Brock Purdy missed last weekend’s game with a shoulder injury.

ESPNs Adam Schefter previously named the Vikings and Ravens as two of the most likely teams to land him.

Minnesota (9-2) and Baltimore (8-4) are gearing up for expected postseason berths and could use Jones as insurance for their respective starters, Sam Darnold and Lamar Jackson.

There were also rumors that Jones could sign with the Cowboys, as his photo briefly appeared on the Cowboys website as an active roster member shortly after his release from the Giants.

However, Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones later said the team has no interest in signing Jones.

“No, I think we’re in good shape at our quarterback spot,” Jones said. “We think Cooper (Rush) gives us the best chance to win at the moment. And we certainly want to see a few more.

‘We’ll see how the season goes here. We still really want to see (Trey) Lance and love what he brings to the table. And of course, in the long run, we all know that we are committed to Dak (Prescott) for the long term.”

Rush started in place of Prescott since the usual starter suffered a season-ending hamstring injury, but the former was previously listed on the Cowboys’ injury report with a knee injury.

Still, Dallas coach Mike McCarthy said Rush should be “good” for the team’s Thanksgiving game against the Giants.
