Nanny in California caught on camera abusing ‘helpless two-day-old baby’ as parents speak out
Video footage has revealed the chilling moment a babysitter in California was caught abusing a helpless two-day-old baby.
The newborn’s parents have revealed that their two-day-old daughter was brutally abused by a trusted nanny just hours after returning home from hospital.
The Bay Area parents, identified only as ‘D’ and ‘T’, were devastated after watching baby monitor footage showing their newborn daughter, ‘Baby H’, being violently shaken, hit and thrown across the room. ABC7 exclusive.
The full extent of the abuse is too explicit to be shown to the public.
“It is absolutely horrifying for any parent and family to experience this,” the father told the outlet.
‘We all thought we could trust her. I never thought something like this could happen,” he added.
San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe described the case as extremely serious.
‘What really struck me when I read the case was the age of the victim. That’s what’s so unusual for us,” he told ABC7.

The Bay Area parents, identified only as “D” and “T,” were left devastated after watching baby monitor footage that showed their newborn daughter, “Baby H,” being violently shaken, punched and was reportedly thrown across the room, they revealed in an exclusive to ABC7
Wagstaffe warned the alleged abuser could face serious jail time.
“If we can convict them, to me, prison is the only solution for someone who would do something like that repeatedly — not just once out of anger or loss of control, but repeatedly,” Wagstaffe said.
“If the evidence supports this, this person could easily go to prison for double-digit years.”
The nanny, who was hired through a social media referral, has not yet been identified or charged.
The parents said she seemed “legitimate” based on their phone call before they hired her.
“From the phone conversation we had with her, it sounded very legitimate, and she seemed like a good babysitter,” the father told the newspaper.
“Of course we interviewed the babysitter too,” he said.

But they noticed “aggressive behavior” and after firing her, they were reviewing the footage when they discovered the shocking abuse.
“Of course we as parents feel guilty,” said the father.
‘My goal is to warn parents about this babysitter. I don’t want any family, baby or mother to go through this again,” the child’s mother added.
