Alix Earle forced to delete bizarre photo of her ‘missing’ parents

Influencer Alix Earle’s Hot mess podcast posted a bizarre promo photo for its latest episode — and it looks like it got some attention, as it has since been taken down.

The post, posted on Monday, featured dramatic individual photos of her parents – mother Alisa and father Thomas Earle, as well as stepmother Ashley Dupré Earle, printed in black and white.

Beneath the photo, which looked eerily like a missing persons poster, was the headline in bold text: “Earle parents go missing during family walk.”

There was also a ‘breaking news’ banner underneath the Instagram post, which was captured by DailyMail.com before it was removed.

The caption read: “Last seen walking to Café du Monde,” a famous café in New Orleans, Louisiana, where Alix’s sister, Ashtin, goes to school at Tulane University.

The post appeared to be a promo for the latest episode of their podcast, titled “Family Fights & Tulane Nights.”

DailyMail.com has contacted Alix’s representatives for comment.

However, it appears that the post was immediately deleted, but not before it ended up on Reddit.

Some users on the LA Influencer Snark subReddit didn’t seem happy with the post, even calling it “tone deaf.”

“I’m sorry, but this is insane!!!!” wrote the original poster. “This isn’t funny, who even approved this? All the comments say the same thing: it will probably be deleted.’

Another agreed: ‘Yes, this is definitely quite tone deaf.’

“Disgusting, in what world would that be funny,” someone else commented.

“This is so tone deaf,” chimed in another.

However, other users didn’t seem to think there was a problem with the promo.

“Stab me all you want but this is stupid and no big deal,” one user typed.

A second agreed: ‘You can’t joke about anything anymore. Sad.’

“I think using WANTED instead of MISSING would be a better fit,” one Redditor typed.

This isn’t the first time Alix has caught some heat in recent months.

In August, the TikTok star apologized to her followers after racist comments she made when she was 13 years old came to light.

The apology came shortly after Rolling Stone named Earle the eighth most influential content creator of 2024.

“A few weeks ago, screenshots surfaced from my old ask.fm account showing me using a swear word in the summer of 2014,” she began in a post on Instagram Stories at the time.

“I take responsibility and want to make it clear that I was thirteen years old and did not understand the deeply offensive meaning behind that word,” she emphasized.

“That’s not an excuse to use that word in any context or at any age. That is absolutely not the way I speak or what I stand for,” she added.

“I am deeply sorry that my words have hurt many and led people to believe that I have prejudice in my heart. I promise you this couldn’t be further from the truth,” Earle continued.

However, this isn't the first time Alix has found herself in trouble in recent months, as she was forced to apologize this summer for racist comments she made when she was 13 years old.

“My platform has always and will continue to focus on positivity, entertainment and uplifting others. I am truly sorry to those I have offended,” she said.

“I regret how I handled this situation, which allowed too many people to talk me out of it for too long,” she added.

“I wasn’t sure how to deal with it and unfortunately the advice I received, although well intentioned, was wrong,” she continued.

“There is no one to blame but myself for not sticking to my guns and acting on my feelings to speak out right away,” she said.

Earle, who rose to fame in recent years for her viral TikTok videos, started her podcast Hot Mess in September 2023.

The podcast was created under Call Her Daddy star Alex Cooper’s Unwell network.

This season, she and her sister co-hosted the show, answering viewer questions and talking about things like friendship, dating and even family separation.
