A bizarre moment unfolded at the Adelaide Oval on Sunday when Australian bowler Jhye Richardson appeared to suffer an injury while celebrating claiming a wicket.
The 28-year-old has been cursed with injuries over the years, with the Western Australia star not having played First-Class cricket in more than a year.
The fast bowler did not feature in WA’s first four matches of the Sheffield Shield season after a hamstring injury has kept him out ahead of this summer.
In 2019, the paceman admitted he was shocked at having to rule himself out of the Cricket World Cup due to a dislocated shoulder.
He had surgery on his shoulder injury in 2020 and subsequently also missed the 2023 World Cup due to an injury.
In what was quite a sensational return to First Class cricket, Richardson would dismiss Conor McInerney and Daniel Drew in successive deliveries.

But while celebrating the wicket, he appeared to hurt his shoulder after high-fiving a teammate
After taking the second wicket, the 28-year-old steamed away to his teammates, jubilant about his heroics.
But as he appeared to give a high five to the group of briefs who ran to celebrate him, he bizarrely appeared to sustain an injury to his shoulder.
He was seen crouching down and holding the top of his right arm before leaving the field with a medic.
Fortunately, the WA pace bowler would return to the field to dismiss Thomas Kelly in the 12th over.
Richardson has played three Tests for Australia, 15 ODIs and 18 T20Is after being signed by Cricket Australia for the 2024-2025 season.
After South Australia opted to go first, WA picked up the pace with a solid score of 373.
Jayden Goodwin was the standout, hitting 139 runs at 272, while captain Ashton Turner achieved WA’s next best score of 79.
At the end of the match on Day Two, South Australia trailed the visitors by 234 runs, after a second innings score of 139-4.
