The White Lotus season 3 will welcome a slew of new guests (and repeat customers to its hungry fanbase) sometime next year. Even though the luxury hotel brand is plagued by – spoilers! – multiple murders, it seems socialites are still willing to visit the lavish resorts.
After the success of the first two parts of the award-winning Max anthology series, there has been quite a hiatus since then The White Lotus season 2 debuted in 2022.
While there’s no sign of a release date yet, there’s exciting news about the season 3 cast, likely plot, and future of the hit series. However, for more information you will need to book a stay (or rather read this guide). Full spoilers ahead ahead The White Lotus seasons 1 and 2.
White Lotus Season 3 Release Date Prediction
The White Lotus season 3 does not have a launch date yet. However, the show was renewed for another performance in 2022. Since then, it has suffered several delays, including last year’s Hollywood one, but now we know it will be with us sometime in 2025.
In August, Walton Goggins – one of the season 3 ensembles – confirmed on Instagram (above) that filming has officially wrapped. Unlike season 2, the lead time from filming to release will take a little longer, we can imagine The White Lotus will return in early 2025. We’ve been pushing it for a month and predict we’ll all be enjoying a bit of winter sunshine (at least in the Northern Hemisphere) when it arrives, with a January or February launch likely.
Even better news: Max subscribers get a “longer, bigger, crazier” season 3 of The White Lotuswith showrunner Like White also narrating Entertainment weekly (EW) it’s going to be a “super-sized” episode. Since season 1 is six episodes long and season 2 is seven episodes, we’d be surprised if that were the case The White Lotus season 3 did not have at least eight episodes. White’s plague indicates that it could take even longer.

There is no official trailer for The White Lotus season 3. But in November, a “new on Max in 2025” teaser showed first clips of Season 3, among many other highly anticipated shows.
That footage followed a six-second teaser (see the lobby of the luxury hotel. There were also quick glimpses of the new cast, including Jason Isaacs, Parker Posey and Patrick Schwarzenegger. A final shot of Posey lounging by the pool with Leslie Bibb and Michelle Monaghan is also briefly seen before the words “What happens in Thailand, stays in Thailand” appear on screen.

As confirmed in the Season 3 teaser, hapless spa worker Belinda from Season 1 is back for more interaction with the satirical series’ new elite characters.
After meeting Tanya (Jennifer Coolidge) in Hawaii and pitching her business plan, it seemed like Tanya might invest some of her wealth to support Belinda’s dream. However, it is clear that this was not the case, and therefore Belinda had to get her old job back, albeit at a different resort. When it comes to her return in season 3, Natasha Rothwell shared Variety: “Everyone needs to buckle up, because it’s about to get real!”
Aside from Belinda’s character, the roles of the other confirmed cast are unknown. If previous seasons are anything to go by, they will remain that way until just before this season airs. Although Tanya was the only character to reprise her role in Season 2, we know that from that season’s tumultuous finale because – well, let’s get into it…
The White Lotus season 3 story speculation
Full spoilers ahead ahead The White Lotus seasons 1 and 2.
As was the case with the previous seasons of The White Lotuscreator Mike White is handling the plot of this season. Speak with The Hollywood Reporter (THR), however, he revealed that season 3 will be a “satirical and funny look at death and Eastern religion and spirituality. It feels like it could be a rich tapestry to do another round at White Lotus.
In another interview with THRWhite spoke about whether Season 3 would start like the other two seasons – with a dead body: “I don’t think it always has to be a body. There are so many ways we want to reinvent the show every year. What is this show, other than people? A new mystery, that’s what people might expect. But I don’t feel limited by expectations. It’s fun.”
There are a few things we are sure of The White Lotus season 3. For starters, it’s set in another luxury resort – this time in Thailand – and Belinda will play a major role.
There is also some news about the new characters. Last year, a list of 13 roles White cast for included nine series regulars. As reported by Termthe roles ranged in age from 18 to 80 – with a patriarch, a business leader, an actress, a pair of mothers, a maverick and a yogi among the bunch. Who from the confirmed cast will play which role, and what those roles will entail, remains strictly confidential.
Since each season features a brand new cast, there isn’t much point in looking to the previous seasons for clues. Although, when it comes to Jennifer Coolidge, she may be hoping that her character Tanya’s husband – named Greg – returns in some capacity so she can get indirect revenge for his murderous plot to steal her fortune. Speak with VarietyCoolidge said, “My hope for Jon (Gries) is that he’s not done with Greg yet. I hope there’s some comeuppance for evil Greg. I think he needs to, I don’t know, end up in a meat grinder.”
Will The White Lotus return after season 3?
With the success of the anthology series, we would really be surprised if The White Lotus ends after three seasons. Luckily, it looks like HBO boss Casey Bloys is on board for more episodes.
Speak with Variety about future plans for the show, he said: “I know Mike has a lot of ideas about where it could go. We’re very fortunate to be able to do business with him. And we have actors who are very, very eager to come up with it right now want to come.” show because it’s a great opportunity and great writing. So I think as long as he wants to do it, we’ll go along with it. He has really built a very interesting model to bring a rotating cast from different parts of the world.”
That’s not really confirmation of a fourth entry, but it’s certainly a positive impression for Bloys. After all, there are so many different locations The White Lotus could move on to the next one, and with new, multi-faceted characters that we would undoubtedly love to hate, the scope of this series could be enormous.
What could future seasons look like? Speak with THRWhite was asked if he would be open to revisiting Greg’s character in the future, to which he said, “It would be easy to just be a full-on anthology, but I think it’s more fun to have little threads through the show. If the show lasts a few seasons, it would be nice to have an all-star season”. An all-star season? Register us.
