Revealed: The Super Bowl contenders leading the race to sign Daniel Jones

Daniel Jones has a big decision to make after being released by the New York Giants earlier this week.

The quarterback must clear waivers Monday at 4 p.m., giving him the freedom to sign with another team and officially draw the line under his New York nightmare.

And according to multiple reports on Sunday, the Baltimore Ravens are preparing a move for Jones, identifying the 27-year-old as a backup to Lamar Jackson as the franchise looks to boost its Super Bowl aspirations.

Another option is the San Francisco 49ers, who won’t start quarterback Brock Purdy this weekend due to a shoulder issue.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan was coy about Purdy’s long-term prognosis and hinted he could miss more than Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers.

According to ESPN, the Minnesota Vikings are also in the running, where Jones could back up Sam Darnold.
