The heartbreaking reason Tammy Hembrow’s movie star dad Mark couldn’t walk her down the aisle at her wedding on Saturday

Tammy Hembrow’s movie star father Mark tragically missed most of his daughter’s wedding ceremony on Saturday for a heartbreaking reason.

The veteran actor, 69, was seen with a pained expression as he held crutches and tried to get out of his car outside the Chateau Du Soleil venue in Byron Bay.

A source told Daily Mail Australia that Mark, who has starred in films with Russell Crowe and Paul Hogan, was unable to walk Tammy down the aisle because he injured himself shortly before the ceremony.

The Hembrow patriarch was forced to skip most of the wedding to receive treatment for a sore leg.

Mark reportedly had an early morning appointment at a hairdresser and while he was there his leg was injured, forcing him to miss most of the big day.

The Young Doctors star was forced to undergo medical treatment and was fitted with crutches, and his injury tragically meant he couldn’t be by Tammy’s side when she married Love Island Australia star Matt Zukowski.

Mark is the father of Tammy and her influencer sisters Amy and Emilee, with his ex-wife Nathalie Stanley.

Tammy and Matt got married in a beautiful ceremony at Chateau Du Soleil in Byron Bay, surrounded by family and friends.

The influencer looked stunning in a strapless ivory and blush pink dress with an elaborate tulle train and a corset bodice, which highlighted her ample cleavage.

The blonde beauty completed her look with a long ivory veil and her hair was styled with long hair extensions in a half ponytail with a center parting.

As the couple held hands, Tammy became emotional and burst into tears as they exchanged vows, saying, “I do.”

She was supported by her bridesmaids: her sisters Amy, 34, and Emilee, 32, along with her half-sister Ava Olympia and Starlette Thynne.

The four siblings wore matching black strapless satin dresses while holding beautiful bouquets, and their hair was styled in neat buns.

Tammy’s daughters Saskia, eight, and Posy, two, were flower girls in cute pale pink dresses, while her son Wolf, nine, served as a page boy.

The three children sat among the guests as they watched their mother get married.

Matt looked dapper in a black suit, similar to his four groomsmen.

He opted for a dark jacket and matching trousers, along with a white shirt, bow tie and leather shoes.

The reality star appeared emotional as he read his vows to his new wife from a piece of paper, with Tammy watching intently as he delivered the romantic speech.

Tammy was seen repeatedly blinking back tears as he took the sweet vows.

The couple got engaged in December last year after just three months of dating.

The jet-setting couple got engaged in the Maldives late last year, before jetting off to Greece and Bali for luxury holidays.

Tammy has been engaged twice before, the first time to influencer Reece Hawkins, with whom she shares her son Wolf and daughter Saskia.

The beautiful venue is the same property where cricketer Pat Cummins held his wedding, and where Hollywood upstart Matt Damon was quarantined when he visited Australia during the pandemic.

Several notable guests were invited to the star-studded wedding, including Ruby Tuesday Matthews and her rarely seen fiancé Shannan Dodd.

Em Davies appeared to break Tammy’s child-free marriage rule when he stepped out for the occasion with fiancé Joel Gambin and their newborn daughter Isla Sue Gambin, who was born in August.

Meanwhile, her best friend Lily Brown and her Ironman boyfriend Jett Kenny were the ultimate power couple.
