Man is arrested in only his underwear over alleged ‘dial-a-dealer’ kidnapping plot in Sydney
A man has been charged over an alleged kidnapping in which police say the victim was lured to a dial-a-dealer headquarters in Sydney’s west.
Strike Force detectives arrested the 23-year-old man at an apartment in Granville, Sydney’s west, about 7.30am on Thursday.
Video of the arrest shows the man being walked out of the unit block by detectives while he is barefoot and wearing only his underwear.
NSW Police allege the suspect lured a 22-year-old man to a Bel-A-Dealer premises in the same suburb late January 19.
The victim was reportedly attacked by six men before being knocked unconscious and dumped nearby while still unconscious.
The 23-year-old was taken to Granville police station on Thursday and charged with kidnapping and drug offences.
He was refused bail and will appear in Parramatta Local Court today.
Police will also allege in court that the man supplied drugs into Parklea Correctional Centre, an all-male prison with capacity for 1,350 inmates in Sydney’s northwest.

The arrest this week comes after two other men were arrested and charged in May for their alleged involvement in the kidnapping.
Their cases remain in court.
NSW Police established Strike Force Wessex in March 2023 to investigate suspected criminal groups involved in supplying drugs through a dial-a-dealer network.
As part of their investigation, police previously arrested three men in Sydney’s west for allegedly operating a $5 million drug ring.
A 22-year-old man was arrested and charged with 13 offences, including five counts of supplying drugs.
Two other men, aged 24 and 26, were also arrested and charged with seven offences.
