My Kitchen Rules fans rage the show is rigged for one big reason as Simone and Viviana are crowned the winners

My Kitchen Rules fans have accused the show of being tampered after restaurateur Simone and hairdresser Viviana won the cooking show on Tuesday night.

The Italian friends emerged victorious, taking home the coveted title and $100,000 in prize money after a fierce battle.

Following their win, viewers flocked to social media to claim the duo should not have been contestants on the show because Simone already owns two restaurants in Brisbane.

“If they own the restaurant they shouldn’t be on the show,” someone wrote on X.

“Go home, you have a restaurant, you shouldn’t be,” while someone else said: “It’s rigged.”

“Isn’t there some kind of rule about a restaurateur having to compete with home chefs?” someone wondered.

Despite the backlash, many praised the couple’s cooking and congratulated them on their win.

‘What beautiful and deserving people! What an incredible display of Italian cuisine. They were so kind, supportive and encouraging to every team opponent! Exactly how the show should be, less drama, more wholesome quality people,” one person said.

‘The best result!! Loved the show this year,” said another.

‘So exciting, so happy for both of you. I hope you guys get your own show. Brilliant,” someone added.

Simone owns two restaurants in Brisbane: Scugnizzi Italian Street Food and Doughcraft, while Viviana has her own barbershop, Amarsi Barbers.

The pair were crowned MKR champions for the 2024 season on Tuesday after taking on Caz and Fergus.

Overjoyed with the win, scoring 27/30, the pair narrowly took the crown with a two-point win over runners-up Caz and Fergus.

“This experience has completely changed our lives,” Viviana said in amazement.

Simone looked at his partner and friends watching and said, “I’m so happy I shared this with Viviana and all our friends. Amore, Amore. We made these for you.’

A beaming Simone then revealed: ‘I’ve just found out I’m going to be a father. My beautiful partner Victoria is pregnant. It’s amazing.’

Viviana added: ‘I took on this challenge with a best friend and came out with a brother. I couldn’t be happier.’

Judges Manu Feildel and Colin Fassnidge were joined in the grand final by special guest judge, Australia’s favorite home chef, Julie Goodwin.

Both teams showed ‘skill, courage and taste’ in cooking four courses (starter, seafood, meat and dessert) involving a total of 100 plates of food as they battled the clock.

Simone and Viviana’s masterful menu showcased their passion, respect for their heritage and technical finesse. Julie said, “It was a pleasure enjoying your food tonight.”

Caz and Fergus’ tasty, creative and vibrant menu also impressed the judges, with a score of 25/30.

‘I am incredibly proud of both of us. It was never going to be easy today,” Caz said. To his mother, Fergus added: “I wouldn’t have gotten here without you. No regrets.’

Simone and Viviana’s ‘perfectly cooked’ Lobster and Guanciale Taco appetizer was a standout dish.

Manu praised the balanced taste, while Colin enjoyed the ‘nice crunch’. Julie said: ‘Every bite was an adventure.’

Simone, who recently became an Australian citizen, revealed: “We give credit to Australia. They introduced us to surf and turf and that’s why we wanted to make this dish.”

Caz and Fergus served Fergburger Spring Rolls with Gochujang Aioli (cheeseburger filling in a spring roll with hot aioli) as a starter.

The ‘very trendy’ and ‘addictive’ dish put a smile on Colin’s face.

Simone and Viviana served ‘pasta perfection’ with their fish dish, Cappellacci Fagioli E Cozze (beans and mussels).

Colin applauded the “nice and creamy” white bean filling alongside “the saltiness and little taste of the mussel.”

Julie called it ‘masterful cooking’ and told modern Italians that their pasta-making skills were ‘next level’.

Caz and Fergus chose grilled lemongrass prawns with Vietnamese chimichurri for their seafood dish.

Colin praised the ‘simple yet elegant dish.’ Julie praised the perfectly cooked shrimp and the “amazing” chimichurri.

Manu admired the flavor combination, but suggested they should have made the grill hotter “to add a little toast flavor.”

Simone and Viviana’s meat dish – Lamb Shank with Pecorino Zabaione and Asparagus – was unconventional.

Simone revealed: ‘We decided to take this to the grand final because we wanted to serve dishes that haven’t been seen before. We want to bring innovation.’

The perfectly cooked and beautifully seasoned lamb showcased Simone and Viviana’s culinary skills.

Manu praised the “brilliant” addition of the zabaione and pecorino foam.

Colin’s highlight was the ‘crispy lamb fat’, but all the judges agreed the asparagus was rushed and needed more seasoning.

Caz and Fergus chose their meat dish Szechuan Beef Short Rib with Shallot Flatbread and Cabbage, which the judges admitted was ‘perfectly cooked, juicy and flavoursome’.

For their dessert dish, Simone and Viviana amazed the judges with a technical tour de force from Paris-Brest with Hazelnut Praline Cream (choux bun filled with hazelnut cream).

Manu called the ‘top dessert’ his favorite dish of their four courses. Julie agreed, “I could have eaten that all day.”

Manu admired Caz and Fergus’ creativity with their dessert: Tamarind date cake with white soy caramel and coconut pandan sorbet.

Julie said their dessert was ‘generous and delicious’, but criticized the texture of the cake.

Manu told both teams, “I want you to know you did a fantastic job. You can all be very proud of what you have achieved.”
