Suspended Premier League referee David Coote ‘filmed snorting white powder during Euro 2024’
A video has emerged showing suspended Premier League referee David Coote allegedly snorting a white powder during the European Championship in the summer.
Coote was suspended by the PGMOL on Monday pending an investigation after a video of him calling Liverpool ‘***’ and their former manager Jurgen Klopp a ‘German ****’ was leaked online.
An eight-second WhatsApp clip obtained by The Sun shows Coote rolling up a US banknote before using it to snort the white substance.
According to The Sun, the video is from July 6, the day after Coote was the supporting VAR official for Spain’s controversial quarter-final win over hosts Germany.
With the match tied at 1–1, Germany wanted a penalty in extra time when a shot hit Marc Cucurella’s arm in the area. Their appeals were waved away and Spain scored a last-minute winner through Mikel Merino.
In the video of Coote snorting the white powder, packets of prescription drugs, a credit card and the novel The Year of The Locust by Terry Hayes can be seen.
According to The Sun’s report, Coote sent the clip to a friend from his hotel room, paid for by UEFA.
