Outnumbered reunion FIRST LOOK: Cast appear in new snaps from special Children In Need sketch – and its young stars look unrecognisable eight years after the comedy series ended

Outnumbered fans have been given their first look at the highly anticipated Children In Need reunion special ahead of its broadcast on Friday.

Hugh Dennis, Claire Skinner, Tyger Drew-Honey, Daniel Roche and Ramona Marquez reunited for the charity special, which airs Friday, eight years after the comedy series ended.

Dressed in Pudsey Bear T-shirts and matching ears, the stars all beamed as they posed for photos ahead of the sketch, which was written and directed by the original writers.

It’s unknown what the Brockman family will be up to in the charity special, but it won’t be the only time this year that the Outnumbered cast will reunite as they return once again for a 2024 Christmas special.

The family comedy series aired on the BBC from 2007 to 2016 and had five series and Christmas specials in 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2016.

Hugh and Claire played Peter and Sue Brockman while Tyger played eldest son Jake, Daniel played middle son Ben, while Ramona played only daughter and youngest child Karen.

When the program first wrapped, Hugh, 62, and Claire, 59, shocked their on-screen children by revealing they had fallen for each other in real life.

And earlier this year, Tyger, 28, Daniel, 25, and Ramona, 23, told The Sun about the surreal moment they found out.

Daniel said: “It was great news, to be honest. We’ve known them both for a long time.

‘You can imagine that we are on a set with three children and they are the only two adult actors for a large part of the time. We had separate green rooms. They get along so well, the chemistry is so real. So happy for them.’

Ramona added, “My mom said, ‘Can’t they adopt you and now you can be a real outnumbered family?’

Hugh’s marriage had failed for the first time, in 2015, about a year after the end of series five. He and Kate Abbot-Anderson have two adult children.

In early 2016, Claire and husband Charles Palmer, a TV director and the son of Butterflies actor Geoffrey, also split. They have two boys.

Hugh confirmed his romance with Claire to the Mail in 2018, saying: ‘I’m very happy, we are so very happy. It’s fun and yes, it’s so beautiful.’

In 2019, Claire broke her silence about her relationship with Hugh, calling their romance a “beautiful little life surprise.”

Speaking on ITV’s Lorraine, Claire said of their romance: ‘We are (together). It’s a nice little life surprise, isn’t it? It’s a beautiful thing.’

The Mail on Sunday previously reported that Hugh and Claire are living together in the £1.2 million London penthouse that Hugh bought after his divorce from his second wife, Kate Abbot-Anderson, in 2015.

After Outnumbered ended, Hugh landed a role in Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s smash hit Fleabag and presents The Great British Dig: History in Your Back Garden.

Meanwhile, Claire has continued to book TV appearances, playing Sheila in A Day in the Death of Joe Egg, which opened at Trafalgar Studios in the West End in 2019.

The Brockman’s final reunion for a 2012 festive special that attracted more than nine million viewers, even more than the last series, which had just over six million.

While Hugh and Claire were given scripts to memorize, the then children were given general plot points and allowed to improvise.

Outnumbered has won the Royal Television Society Award for Scripted Comedy, as well as three British Comedy Awards and four BAFTA TV Award nominations.

Children In Need airs on BBC One and iPlayer on Friday, November 15 at 7pm.
