The K-drama actor made his debut in the film Actresses in 2009 before rising to stardom with his role as the king’s loyal bodyguard in the 2012 show Moon Embracing the Sun.

K-drama actress Park Soo Ryun tragically passed away at the age of 29 in June 2023. The actress who starred in the hit Disney+ K-drama Snowdrop died after falling down a flight of stairs.
She was taken to hospital for emergency treatment but was declared brain dead despite attempts to revive her.
Sadly, Park Soo Ryun is just one of the latest South Korean celebrities to die at a tragically young age as the country grapples with a series of deadly setbacks and a rising mental health crisis.
While dozens of actors, K-Pop stars and other South Korean celebrities have fallen victim to suicide due to mental illness, many have also died in devastating accidents and even gruesome murders.
Just two months before Park Soo Ryun’s death, South Korean actress and model Jung Chae-yul, who rose to fame for her role in Zombie Detective, was found dead in her home at the age of 26.
Shortly after, K-Pop star Moonbin was also found dead in his apartment in a suspected suicide. The singer, actor, dancer and model was only 25.
And in early June 2023, glamorous South Korean influencer BJ Ahyeong, a K-pop DJ, was found dead and dumped in a well in Cambodia, weeks after quitting her social media career.
