Zach Bryan’s ex-girlfriend Brianna Chickenfry reveals theory about who his song Pink Skies is REALLY about
Fans have been working tirelessly to decipher the signs of trouble in paradise leading up to Zach Bryan’s Instagram post announcing his split from girlfriend Brianna Chickenfry on October 22.
But now Brianna – real name: Brianna LaPaglia – is spilling some tea about one of her ex’s recent hit songs.
Brianna’s BFFs podcast co-host Dave Portnoy first went public with the alleged connection to the release of his diss track about Bryan, which was provocatively titled Country Diddy.
“Say you hate Grace, you ain’t nothing alike,” Portnoy raps, referencing Grace O’Malley, co-host of Brianna’s Plan Bri Uncut podcast. “So the song Pink Skies is based on her life?”
Brianna explained that the song was reportedly about her friend Grace, in response to a fan’s request for clarification.

Brianna (L) claimed the song was written about her friend and co-host Grace O’Malley (R). Dave Portnoy previously made the claim on his Zach-bashing diss track Country Diddy
She claimed in a social media reply that Zach was inspired to write the song because she “forced him to go to” [Grace’s] Grandma’s funeral.’
Brianna said Zach “yelled at me and wrote it that night.”
The country superstar has remained largely silent about the inspiration behind Pink Skies after releasing the song in May as the lead single from his album The Great American Bar Scene, which was released on July 4 this year.
The LP subsequently peaked at number two on the Billboard 200 albums chart, while topping the country album charts.
The single Pink Skies was also a success, reaching number six on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, topping the US Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart and reaching number three on the US Hot Country Songs chart.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Zach wrote that the song was “not inspired by my story.”
“Every time I sing about a dying person, people assume it’s about my mother, but that was absolutely not the case,” he wrote, referring to the death of his mother Annette in 2016. “I just think that all dynamics in families is beautiful and interesting, and for generations it is a really cool event. thing.’
Following Brianna’s breakup with Zach, which she said was “blindsided,” fans began to wonder if she might be feuding with her longtime friend and co-host Grace, as the two had barely communicated publicly online for weeks.
However, Brianna shut down the rumors late last month, explaining that she had been in private contact with Grace as she tried to stay off social media as she struggled to adjust to her shock split.
“Me and Grace will always be fine,” she said, before claiming her ex assaulted her friends by yelling at them, which she said was captured on video.
After Portnoy claimed he spilled the beans on his rap, Brianna claimed Zach wrote the song because she “made him go to jail.” [Grace’s] Grandma’s funeral.’ Brianna stated that Zach ‘yelled at me and wrote it that night’
Brianna said the breakup blindsided her. She made it clear to fans that she and Grace had not had a falling out because they were concerned that they had taken millions from Zach to allegedly not talk about the relationship.
The podcast host, who described her ex-boyfriend as “emotionally abusive,” claimed on her show last week that Zach offered her a $12 million payment in exchange for her agreeing not to talk about their relationship and breakup .
Grace was also subject to the same rumors that she allegedly accepted a huge payment in exchange for signing a non-disclosure agreement regarding her interactions with Zach.
However, she denied the rumors in a now-expired Instagram Stories post from last weekend.
“I wish I didn’t even have to say this, but there is no world where I would EVER take money from that clown to shut me up,” she wrote. ‘It’s been a great year and I’m still not ready to talk about it (online). I’m just glad Bri is free from that piece of s***. That’s all for now.’
Dave Portnoy delivered another dig at Zach Bryan in his latest diss track ‘Country Diddy.’
The Barstool Sports chief launched the attack on Bryan this past week in defense of his BFFs Podcast co-host Brianna Chickenfry after she was “blindsided” by the singer’s decision to publicly announce their breakup.
After his first diss track ‘Smallest Man’ was removed when Bryan’s record label – Warner Music – filed copyright claims, Portnoy released the new record on Sunday night.
The BFF YouTube channel premiered the song with a lyric video. The background for the lyrics was an animated old western town with a bank building on the right and a Lego cowboy with a guitar and a non-disclosure agreement – presumably depicting Bryan.
Bryan’s alleged use of NDAs was immediately addressed in the song’s hook, sung by a female singer, who sang, “All these NDAs, you sound like a country Diddy.”

Portnoy then blasted Bryan for paying hush money, claiming that Chickenfry rejected the offer and that no amount of cash can silence him as he supports his co-host.
‘Offered Bri $13 million to close her trap. Then she turned around and said, “Just stick it up your ass,” he raps in the first verse.
“I’m the one problem you can’t pay to go away,” he later added.
“I hate you with a passion, Zach, violently/And no amount of bribery can silence me,” he continues in the second verse.
Portnoy also referenced how he claimed the country singer abused his dog, Miss Peaches.
“Even Miss Peaches says she can smell the shit in you,” he raps.
Bryan and Chickenfry were dating from the summer of 2023 until last month, when the blinding happened.
Portnoy recorded and released “Smallest Man” with Barstool personality Josh Richards, who ripped into Bryan over his hairline, height, a 2023 arrest and accusations of infidelity and sexually transmitted diseases.
On Thursday, Portnoy revealed a new twist in the escalating feud, explaining that the song was removed because Richards is also signed to the label and they essentially “own him.”

In Bryan’s “blinding” post, he praised Brianna for loving him “unconditionally.”
Portnoy then foreshadowed the second diss track he promised to return in another attack from the booth – and even hinted that Chickenfry would join him.
“Okay, do you think that’s it? Do you think we’ll just get rid of ‘Smallest Man’? I’m going to write 10,000 diss tracks,” a shirtless Portnoy said in a video shared to X. ‘I’m dying in the cubicle. I put on the headphones and come back with spit sticks twice as hot.
“Maybe we’ll do ‘Dave’s version’ – I hear Bri might come into the booth and do her version. We’ll find out. [It] It may take 24 hours, but the more Warner Music Group acts like little fucking p***s and Zach Bryan acts like little fucking p***s.
‘…. The more they worry about this s***, the worse it will get. You’re in the mud. You made me angry, I have to go to the booth. I thought it would be one and done. I don’t care. I keep spitting.’
