Nathan Cleary and Mary Fowler show how much they’re missing each other on their one-year anniversary

Nathan Cleary and Mary Fowler have posted heartwarming photos of their latest time together on the NRL star’s European holiday to mark the one-year anniversary of their romance going public.

The Penrith premiership winner and the Manchester City youngster spent a few weeks together after this year’s NRL grand final, as he flew to meet her in England – and followed her to Switzerland to watch her play for the Matildas.

Their relationship appeared to go a step further when Cleary was photographed holding Matildas star Katrina Gorry’s daughter Harper as he watched the Aussies take on Germany – the first time he has been photographed spending time with the best friends of his partner.

Cleary had to return home early this month to undergo shoulder surgery in time to be fully healthy for the start of the NRL season on March 1 next year – but he and Fowler have both posted heartwarming photos from their outing as they continue their long-distance relationship maintain.

The NRL star posted a photo of him with Fowler in an Instagram post he called ‘Down time’, which also featured photos of him celebrating this year’s grand final win with his teammates while driving a Mercedes in Europe and taking in some of its stunning sights. on the continent – and finally a photo of Fowler posing with a portrait he painted of her.

That last photo got a response from Fowler, who said, “Mems [memories] a lifetime… that last slide.’

Shortly after Cleary’s post, it was his girlfriend’s turn.

Fowler posted a photo of the couple embracing as they caught up in England, along with a short video of her walking up a hill, which appears to be taken by Cleary, who commented on the post with a smiling face.

Their posts came just over a year after their relationship became public thanks to an exclusive report from Ny Breaking Australia that showed them in a very romantic display in a Perth park.

That story has helped make them the hottest couple in Australian sport, with the pair later spotted in Sydney several times, as well as on the Gold Coast when she reunited with him after spending last Christmas apart.

Shortly before the NRL grand final, Cleary gave his fans a startling account of the beginning of their relationship.

“Every time I was with her, it felt like we were two normal people… and then suddenly people were taking pictures of us, and then they were published, and then there were articles, and then there were people waiting . the front of my house,” Cleary said.

‘One day I was driving and I realized this car was following me.

‘Then I took a few turns, took a few turns, they took the exact same turns. I was almost in a car chase.

‘That was astonishing to me. I understand it, I think, because people care [about the romance].

“It all happened so quickly, and with her relationship in the public eye, it was hard to keep your wits about you.”

Cleary also addressed rumors that he had staged the photos of him and Fowler cuddling in Perth, with the fact that he was shirtless at the time fueling speculation that he had tipped off the photographer.

“I swear to God I had no idea,” he said.

‘Leading up to that we were probably quite blasé about how much people actually cared.

“After the park we went back to the car and then we saw someone there with the big camera, and about a few hours later it all came out.”

Last month, Nathan’s father and coach, Ivan, revealed that his son had made a huge sacrifice to see Fowler in Britain.

The Panthers boss said Nathan had postponed his much-needed shoulder surgery so he could make the most of his chance to escape.

Ivan added: “I met Mary… she is a sweet girl and very mature for her age.

“They’re very happy together, so that’s the most important thing.”
