In an effort to keep everyone in shape, US Soccer has announced a training camp in Texas for players from MLS teams not participating in the Cup Playoffs to stay fit.

It is seen as an opportunity for players on the fringes of the squad to prove themselves with one last chance to catch the plane to Qatar.

In its statement, the USSF said it is “important to bridge the gap between players completing their seasons and potential entry into the World Cup.”

USSF spokesmen emphasized that inclusion in this camp does not guarantee a place in Qatar and that those who were not included will be considered for selection. They also added that more people will be brought to the camp as each round of the playoffs progresses.
