Also in attendance was Eddie’s co-star Lashana Lynch, 36, who plays Bianca, a tenacious British intelligence operative who tracks down Jackal in a thrilling cat-and-mouse chase across Europe.

Lashana looked radiant as she showed off her blossoming baby bump in a black turtleneck maxi dress.

She added inches to her frame with a pair of black leather stiletto boots and further accessorized with silver statement earrings.

The Day Of The Jackal premiered on Sky Atlantic and NOW on Thursday, November 7, but the thriller series received mixed reviews from critics, with some calling Eddie Redmayne’s reboot ‘truly compelling’, while others called it ‘boring and pointless’.

Eddie stars as Jackal, the elusive hitman who makes his living executing hits for the highest payday. But he soon meets his match in a persistent offer from British intelligence, who tracks him down in a thrilling cat-and-mouse chase across Europe.

The Telegraph claimed that the 21st century reboot was ‘truly compelling’ as they judged Eddie’s character.

Jasper Rees gave the series a star rating of four out of five, writing: ‘The main event of the chase is prone to misfires and sagging in the middle of the story. Yet Redmayne’s otherness is convincing.’

While the Irish Independent claimed that The Day Of The Jackal is ‘long and baggy’ and has too many ‘uninteresting characters’.

Pat Stacey wrote: ‘This Day of the Jackal is…well, not. It’s long and baggy, with too many uninteresting characters, too many boring domestic scenes and the usual over-the-top and unbelievable gunfights and car chases.’

Meanwhile, Digital Spy’s Rebecca Cook said The Day Of The Jackal is a ‘compulsive but conventional watch’.

The critics’ reviews come after Eddie recently revealed he ‘barely’ saw his co-star Lashana on set, despite the pair taking center stage in their exciting new series.

The actor and actress joined presenter Nick Grimshaw, 40, on BBC radio 1 last month.

However, Eddie revealed that promoting the series was the “fun” part now that the pair are finally “hanging out and spending time together.”

Eddie revealed that they barely saw each other during filming, saying, “Even though Lashana and I are in it (the series), we barely saw each other during the making of it.”

“Because it was kind of a cat and mouse story and we were kept apart to a large extent.”

He confessed, “So the advertising side was the fun part because we got to hang out and spend time together.”

Also in attendance was Eddie's co-star Lashana Lynch, 36, who plays Bianca, a persistent British intelligence operative who tracks down Jackal.

Lashana agreed with Eddie’s statement saying, “It’s really true, because we are also producers of the show, we spent a year talking about every nook and cranny of the show.”

“We saw everything, every edit and every moment of this process, and it was just really fun to get to know each other that way.”

Eddie also revealed to the radio host why he decided to take part in the new series, a modern take on the original film and book.

Eddie revealed that he was initially hesitant to star in it, saying, “I did like the original movie and book growing up,”

“So when the scripts arrived in my inbox, there was a huge amount of fear because you don’t want to butcher something you love.”

He admitted that he had a change of heart when he saw the script, adding, “(The script) was basically updated to this point, and the scripts were just so propulsive and it felt completely fresh and new.”

“But it kept the DNA of what was so great in the original, this kind of cat-and-mouse quality, and the fact that Jackal is basically a shape-shifting chameleon, you never quite know what you’re going to get.”

Per one IMDB summaryThe shows cards ‘a manhunt taking place for a dangerous, elusive killer known only as the Jackal’.

Eddie plays the deadly jackal, with Lashana’s character leading the quest to discover his identity.

Ahead of the show’s release, the No Time To Die star opened up about playing Bianca Entertainment weekly last month.

She explained: “She’s so determined to be this strange version of the human superhero. And I say strange version because they are all twisted elements of things you would hope a man wouldn’t do if he were doing good for the world.’

‘The way she does her job means that there has to be a sacrifice and a sacrifice somewhere. And unfortunately for her, that sacrifice and the brain pain are worth it.”

Regarding both her character and Jackal, Lashana added, “People who work for good and people who work for evil can have such similarities. At the end of the day, they both just have their jobs to do.”
