White woman, 82, arrested for hate crime after attacking Hispanic female Trump supporters
A white woman was filmed being arrested for a hate crime after allegedly attacking two Hispanic women for supporting Donald Trump.
The 82-year-old woman, who has not been named, was arrested Tuesday in a Seattle suburb after allegedly approaching MAGA voters Gina Powell and Mary Jennings to ask them why they would support Trump given the color of their skin .
‘I approached her and said I want to know why you are voting for Trump. That’s the only thing. And. And I said because you have a brown skin color,” the octogenarian told police KOMO news.
The woman has not yet been charged, but a judge found probable cause for a hate crime, as well as two counts of fourth-degree assault.

Powell and Jennings say they were waving Trump flags with a group of fellow Republican supporters on a corner in Edmonds when the woman approached them.
“I was just shocked by the presence of mind, and she made it very clear that it was my skin color,” Powell said.
“And then she shoved me, pushed me back, and I said don’t touch me. And then, not even a second, she punched me in the chin.”
Powell told 770 KTTH that the woman was particularly angry about her shirt, which read: “Pro-God, pro-guns, pro-life, pro-Trump.”

The arrested woman told police her response was to push Powell away and admitted to putting her hand on her chin and pushing on her shoulder, but insisted it “wasn’t hard.”
Jennings then intervened to separate the women, and says the white liberal ended up punching her as well.
“I said you have no right to touch anyone, and all I did was barely touch it, and she hit me,” Jennings said.
“But she made contact, and you know what, it shut my mouth,” Jennings said.

Bodycam footage captured the moments after the altercation as police arrived on the scene and the accused woman explained herself.

Powell and Jennings say they are physically fine after the altercation, but the experience was emotional for them.

Powell and Jennings are part of a wave of Latino voters who backed Trump in the 2024 election race.
Trump enjoyed a 14 percent increase in Hispanic support compared to his 2020 run, which he lost to Joe Biden.
It has long been assumed that Latino voters would be more likely to vote for Democrats, but in recent elections they have moved increasingly to the right.
Many of these voters share widespread concerns about immigration and inflation.
Others were also angered by Kamala Harris and Joe Biden’s insistence on using the progressive term “Latinx” to describe them, according to recent reports.
