Get Out star slammed for calling US ‘racist and sexist’ after Trump’s landslide election win
A West Wing and Get Out star came under fire after criticizing the US following Donald Trump’s election day victory.
Bradley Whitford, best known for his Emmy-winning role as political consultant Josh Lyman on the hit show, suggested Wednesday that Kamala Harris’ landslide loss was due, at least in part, to the “racist and sexist” nature of the country.
“I thought it would be closer,” he told The Independent. “But every time one of my friends asked me, I ended it with, ‘You can never underestimate how racist and sexist this country is.’
The comments sparked backlash on social media, with critics quickly calling out the actor.
“Bradley Whitford is a racist sexist, the guilty always blame and project,” one follower wrote, as another posted: LOSERS always blame race/sexist BS WHEN THE TRUTH IS HARD TO TAKE”

Another sounded, “No. I just don’t like a crappy candidate. Had nothing to do with race and sex. Still, a nice attempt at giving in. Do better, Bradley.”

“The fanatic in that sentence is Bradley Whitfield,” one critic also noted.
During the Independent interview, Bradley also didn’t hesitate to share his thoughts on the president-elect.
“It is completely baffling to me the cult that has formed around a narcissist like this, the worst person in show business,” Whitford told the outlet. ‘And that is a difficult category.’
Bradley also played the sinister Dean Armitage in Get Out, a well-meaning but disturbing liberal patriarch who plays a key role in the film’s disturbing “sunken place” ritual.
Meanwhile, Jay Leno faced backlash on social media after calling Tuesday’s election “a great day for democracy,” while also admitting he was “not a fan” of newly elected President Donald Trump.
On The Talk Wednesday, the 74-year-old star reflected on the Republican’s victory over Kamala Harris, saying, “The nice thing about this election is that it was fair, it was fair.”
He continued, “I wasn’t a fan of Trump, but that’s okay, it’s the president of the United States – let’s all come together, thank you very much.”
Criticism of Whitford came quickly on social media

Leno, who hosted The Tonight Show from 1992 to 2014, shared that he feared a close election would lead to “name calling,” but he praised the process as “professionally executed.”
He added: ‘Everyone says it was fair. I mean, it’s a great day for democracy.”
His comments did not go down well with some social media users, who were quick to call him out.
