Dollar Tree shoppers rush to buy $3 holiday decor item identical to more expensive Michaels option
Dollar Tree shoppers are raving about a $3 holiday garland that’s nearly identical to Michaels’ but half the price.
The necklace’s ‘poinsettia and berries’ decoration is a budget-friendly alternative to a similar version sold at Michaels for $6.99, down from $14.99 – making the Dollar Tree version an even bigger bargain.
Both are 1.80 meters high and feature green leaves and red flowers, just like the classic, festive look of the poinsettia plant. The main difference is that the cheaper version also has some white flowers.
Christmas garlands are a beloved tradition in American homes leading up to Thanksgiving through Christmas.
Shoppers were quick to praise Dollar Tree’s holiday dupes online.

“I was looking for a specific garland for my two Christmas pine trees and I was looking for a natural look rather than the seasonal look,” said one review.
The reviewer noted one problem, but also offered a solution: ‘I obviously love the garland, but the negative side is that the leaves are quite thin and fragile, but I leave them on the tree all year round so that there is there is no wear and tear.’
Another buyer shared their excitement: ‘I bought these for a Christmas party last year and they looked beautiful on the table’, while a third called them ‘very nice quality’ and said they would be ‘fun to make yourself.’

Dollar Tree fans are often happy to find a cheaper alternative to more expensive brands.
Consumers are also excited about Dollar Tree’s $1.25 pumpkin-themed placemats, which look strikingly similar to a more expensive version sold at Pottery Barn.
The store offers a budget-friendly alternative to the higher-end retailer’s Bedford Harvest Cork placemats, which cost $48 for a set of four.
Meanwhile, two weeks ago, a $5 Christmas tree decoration that fans said had the cutest “vintage look” went viral.
But some have warned that many stores are running low on stock of the LED-lit ceramic tree, urging others to act quickly before they are gone.
Budget-friendly holiday decor is enjoying a surge in popularity this year as inflation and high interest rates force consumers to cut back on seasonal spending.
Shoppers have taken to TikTok to show off their festive finds, with Dollar Tree and other discount retailers seeing strong demand.
