Shocking new details revealed as man is arrested after woman’s body found in abandoned car in Hurstville, Sydney
A man has been arrested after a woman was found dead in a car on a busy street in Sydney’s south.
Emergency services were called to Durham Street in Hurstville, about 16km south of Sydney’s CBD, at 5.15pm on Tuesday after reports of welfare concerns.
The woman, believed to be in her 40s, was found dead in the front passenger seat.
Police are treating her death as suspicious and have established a crime scene.
On Wednesday afternoon, police announced that 48-year-old Johnny Di Marcello was arrested at his home shortly after the incident.
‘He was taken to St. George Police Station and charged with breaching a ban/restriction on AVO (domestic) carriage without the owner’s consent, second offense driving while disqualified and breach of the bail,” NSW Police said.
He was refused bail and will appear at Sutherland Local Court on November 19.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police as investigations continue.
