Chris Martin’s dance moves compared to iconic Aussie character in hilarious viral TikTok

Coldplay fans have hilariously compared frontman Chris Martin’s dance moves to those of an iconic Australian TV character.

TikTok user Shanarah5 took to the social media platform on Tuesday to share footage of Chris, 47, performing on the band’s Music of the Spheres tour.

However, instead of audio from the performance, TikTokker played audio from a scene from the classic Australian comedy Summer Heights High.

The original scene, which saw over-the-top drama teacher Mr G (played by Chris Lilley) do a series of bizarre dances, was compared to the Coldplay frontman’s moves.

“What I like to do every now and then is perform a whole lesson for the kids,” Mr. G says in the clip.

“Just to give them a benchmark of how things are done. So they can see how someone works at a professional industry level.”

Fans used the comments to show their appreciation for the clip.

“Welcome to Mr. G’s room,” one commenter wrote, while another said, “fine, I’m going to watch Summer Heights High again.”

“Chris Martin-Lilley,” wrote another.

Someone else said: ‘Omg. Mr G voice-over, this is simply comedy of the highest order. I swear Raygun has the same moves!’

It comes as Chris Martin had Australian fans on the edge of their seats on Sunday night when he dramatically fell through a trapdoor onto the stage.

The Coldplay frontman was playing the band’s fourth and final date in Melbourne on their Music of the Spheres tour when he tripped during the sold-out show and fell in front of the packed crowd at Marvel Stadium.

Martin was reading audience signs and walking backwards during a break in the show when he tumbled through a hole in front of the shocked audience.

In footage shared on social media, concertgoers can be heard gasping as Martin disappears from view.

The Yellow singer can then be heard reassuring fans, “That’s not planned,” before adding “Thanks for catching me” to a production hand under the stage.

After the incident, Martin continued with the show.
