Trump says there’s been ‘massive cheating’ in the 2024 election in Philadelphia and Detroit

Former President Donald Trump took to social media Tuesday to express his concerns about Democrats’ deception in Philadelphia and Detroit as voters continued to head to the polls.

“There is a lot of talk about massive deception in Philadelphia,” Trump wrote on social media. “Law enforcement is coming!!!”

The former president did not immediately cite evidence to support his claim, drawing a sharp rebuke from Philadelphia City Commissioner Seth Bluestein, a Republican.

“This accusation is absolutely false,” he wrote on social media. ‘It’s another example of disinformation. Voting in Philadelphia was safe.”

Bluestein added that he was in “regular contact” with the Republican National Committee and “responded to any reports of election irregularities.”

Trump made his claim again, citing problems in Detroit, Michigan.

‘Philadelphia and Detroit! There is heavy law enforcement!!!” he wrote.

Trump’s concerns about Philadelphia may stem from reports of a higher-than-expected turnout for Harris.

Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner also immediately responded to Trump’s claim in a statement.

“There is no factual basis in law enforcement to support this wild accusation,” he said.

He added that he was monitoring the elections and invited people to report any concerns or complaints about the election process.

“If Donald J. Trump has facts to support his wild accusations, we want them now,” he said. ‘Right now. We’re not holding our breath.’

Democrats are touting the turnout in Philadelphia as a big boost for Vice President Kamala Harris, allowing her to erase high rural vote margins for Trump.

“Electoral turnout is extremely high,” said Robert Brady, chairman of the Democratic Party of Philadelphia told journalist David Shuster. “I’ve been running elections as chairman for 50 years and I’ve been chairman for 40 years and now it’s the highest we’ve ever seen at this point.”
