Linda Robson lifts the lid on Birds Of A Feather feud as the show marks 35 year anniversary

Linda Robson has lifted the lid on her feud with her Birds Of A Feather co-stars Pauline Quirke and Lesley Joseph.

The actress, 66, revealed that the whole gang would like to reunite for the much-loved comedy after last month marked 35 years since filming began on the show.

Speculation about a rift between Linda and Pauline was reported in 2021 after it was revealed the duo were no longer speaking to each other.

However, Linda shut down rumors that the pair might not be sleeping as she confirmed she would definitely be up for a reunion.

Speaking to Marina Berry during the Lifestyle Awards, the presenter asked if the show would make a comeback.

Linda replied, “Well, I guess because it was our anniversary on October 16th, it was 35 years to the day we started, and it just went viral and everyone went crazy saying, ‘Bring Birds Of A Feather”.

“You never know, fingers crossed. We’re all down for it if they want us. I would definitely be 100% prepared for it.”

Reflecting on how they could never have expected the show to blow up like it did, Linda recalled, “All those years ago we got the 76 bus to the studios and we were terrified.

“We just thought we didn’t know what it would be like.

‘And then the walk-on artist said, “I think you got a hit here, girl.”

“We used to have about 23, 24 million viewers, you don’t get viewers like that anymore, but they don’t make comedies like that anymore.”

Although Linda did not hint at past feuds, The Mail on Sunday revealed for the first time that a seemingly irreparable rift has opened up between Pauline and Linda, whose band once helped cement their reputation as one of Britain’s most popular double acts strengthen.

Insiders said there had been ‘real and tense issues’ which led to Pauline refusing to take part in the 30th anniversary show, which aired in 2019.

Linda told presenter Marina Berry at the Lifestyle Awards: 'You never know, fingers crossed. We're all down for it if they want us. I would definitely be 100% in favor of it.”

At the same time, Linda grew closer to co-star Lesley, who plays man-eating neighbor Dorien Green, and the pair decided not to ask Pauline to take part in the 2020 Christmas special.

The fallout seemingly spelled an end for Pauline’s beloved character Sharon, whose absence was explained by the character being on her way to a cruise.

In 2021, it was claimed that things got so heated at one point that the childhood friends had to be separated by crew members during filming at Teddington Studios in West London.

However, Linda previously confirmed that it was Pauline’s ‘choice’ not to appear in the one-off episode in 2021 and that the cast had to ‘respect’ her decision.

The Loose Women panelist told us Emphatic: ‘People obviously miss Pauline, but we have to respect that it was her choice not to do it anymore.

‘She wants to concentrate on her academy. When they (the producers) asked us, we said, “Yes, we would still like to do it. We’re not ready to finish it yet.”

“I think it worked really well because they made a good script and we made the best of it.”

Meanwhile, in May 2022, Linda put all rumors of a split with long-time girlfriend Pauline to rest as she and Lesly enjoyed lunch with her at The Delaunay in Covent Garden.
