Elon Musk’s dad Errol reveals his son’s true political leanings despite him backing Trump

Elon Musk’s father Errol has revealed that his son’s true political leanings are “in the spotlight” despite him supporting Trump.

The Tesla CEO’s father said neither Musk nor Donald Trump belong to the far right. “Elon is right in the middle,” Errol, 78, said Times radio.

He added that he and his son don’t talk about American politics all the time, but that he “tried to support him in every way possible,” with Musk “doing the right thing.”

Despite Errol’s claim that 53-year-old Musk is “at the center,” the tech mogul attended several Trump rallies and voiced his support for the former president, even going so far as to win a $1 million lottery organized for voters now under investigation by the Philadelphia district attorney.

Musk, the richest man in the world, has reportedly donated at least $118 million to his political action committee America PAC, an organization that raises money for elections and has been used by Musk to support Trump.

According to the America PAC website, 16 people, including four in Pennsylvania, received the $1 million prizes. The winners were reportedly chosen at random from those who signed a petition pledging support for free speech and gun rights.

The offer was limited to registered voters in one of the seven states likely to determine the outcome of the Nov. 5 election: Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

Musk gave away the first $1 million at an America PAC meeting on October 19 in Harrisburg, the capital of Pennsylvania.

Philadelphia Attorney Larry Krasner, a Democrat, sued Musk and his pro-Trump political action committee, America PAC, last week, calling the $1 million awards to registered voters in battleground states “an illegal lottery program.”

Krasner had asked to close the daily giveaways, but Pennsylvania Common Pleas Court Judge Angelo Foglietta declined to do so after a daylong hearing Monday with Musk’s lawyers and prosecutors.

Musk repeatedly expressed his support for Trump. At a rally in New York’s Madison Square Garden, he said: ‘As you can see, I’m not just MAGA, I’m a dark goth MAGA.

“We’re going to get the government off of you and out of your pockets. The future will be great.’

He added: “This is a real battle, this is a real election battle. So make sure your friends and family vote. Make sure they vote early, this is important. Make the margin of victory so big that ‘you know what’ can’t happen.”

Musk has donated more than $70 million to Trump’s campaign and echoed the former president’s concerns about mail-in voting, saying mail-in ballots should not be accepted in the future.

He also addressed the January 6, 2021 insurrection at a town hall event in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, saying Trump was not responsible for the violence as he “actually told people not to be violent” and instead to be “peaceful and patriotic.” protest. .

But when Trump ran for office for the first time in 2016, Musk said Trump was “not the right man” to be president because he “doesn’t seem to have the kind of character that fits well with the United States.”

Musk and his father Errol, a mining magnate and former politician, have repaired their relationship in recent years, after Musk called his father a “terrible human being” and an “evil” in 2017.

But now Errol praised his son for being “smarter than anyone I’ve ever met” and for being “sensible.”

Musk’s difficult relationship with his father was detailed in the biography of SpaceX founder Elon Musk. Musk moved in with him at the age of ten for seven years, a decision he later regretted and which had a major impact on his life.

Musk grew up in South Africa and claims that his father’s guilt led him to leave his brother Kimbal and sister Tosca behind to keep him company.

Musk calls his father a “volatile fabulist” with a Jekyll and Hyde personality. As Musk puts it, “It was mental torture. He certainly knew how to make something terrible.”

After Musk was left in the hospital following a beating by some kids at his school, Errol sided with the child who punched Musk in the face.

Errol is reported to have said, “That boy had just lost his father to suicide and Elon called him stupid. How could I ever blame that child?’

After coming home from the hospital, Musk had to stand for an hour while his father yelled at him for being an “idiot” and “worthless.”

Errol had a relationship with Musk’s mother that was “full of drama.” He proposed repeatedly, but she “didn’t trust him” and then discovered he was cheating on her.

When she found out, she reportedly cried and didn’t eat for a week, losing 10 pounds, Isaacson claims.

During a 2022 interview with an Australian radio station, Errol said he was not proud of his son and that he would rather drive a Bentley or a Rolls Royce than a Tesla.

But just a year later, he defended his son’s controversial appearance on Joe Rogan’s podcast, in which he famously smoked weed with the comedian.

Errol’s comments about the election come after Musk’s mother Maye spoke out about the “malicious and dishonest” Democrats after leaving the party to join her son in support of the Republican Party and Trump.

The 76-year-old model, who has recently become more outspoken about the problems in the US, says the party’s treatment of her son made Maye reconsider how she felt about them.

When she became a U.S. citizen, her news diet was full of typically liberal networks like MSNBC and CNN. “But then they also said Elon is terrible, and I thought, ‘Why are they lying about Elon?’” she said.

Maye continued, “They really impressed upon me that they just didn’t know what they were doing,” she said.

She now believes the party could lie about anything to hurt the US

“When I resigned from the Democrats, I felt such relief that I am not part of the party that is now evil and dishonest. And my biggest fear is the fraud they commit at the polling booths,” she said Fox Business.

It’s been a long time since she became a citizen in 1996 and joined the left.

“When I became an American citizen, of course I was a Democratic because they give you that option and because they are good, kind people who care about America,” Maye said.
