American woman enrages Brits after eating fish and chips using ‘crazy’ method
An American woman has sparked outrage after eating her fish and chips with her hands during a visit to London.
Allison Kuch, from Orange County, California, said she flew “all the way” to Britain to try the British delicacy for the first time.
She went to the Mayfair Chippy after seeing it on Instagram and explained the name to her TikTok followers by clarifying: ‘As in fish and chippys.’
Mother-of-one Allison, 29, was clearly impressed with her meal and said it was the ‘best fish’ she had ever eaten after eating it in a video.
She explained that she had previously only eaten fish and chips from McDonald’s and wanted to try it the traditional way.
But her British followers were shocked by the way she ate the fish, picking up the entire fillet in her hands like a giant chicken nugget.

Allison dangled the fillet in the air and said, “Look at these fish and chips!” Are we kidding?
‘I flew all the way here for this. This is officially the best fish I’ve ever had.’
The British were shocked that Allison had not chosen to cut up her fish with a knife and fork.
They wrote on social media: ‘Americans on TikTok like to eat fish and chips with their hands??? Why? Are you in Mayfair? Didn’t anyone give you a dirty look? That’s crazy, but I think I’m going away lol’;
‘The knife and fork were on the table’;
‘I’ll die if you pick it up with your fingers’;
‘I love it when Americans visit Britain and get fish and chips and eat the fish with their hands as if it were a giant chicken nugget’
‘It is said on the street that we don’t eat fish and chips with our hands. Why didn’t I know that already.’
Others, however, staunchly defended their right to eat the meal as they pleased.
They added: ‘Shouldn’t you… do that?’;
‘You obviously eat fish and chips with your hands’;
‘Beans on toast Twitter always has so much to say. But how else should you eat it? That’s definitely finger food.’

On the way to the diner, Allison explained, “I’m craving fish and chips. I’ve never had fish and chips before so I don’t know how I feel about them. The only fish and chips I’ve ever had are from McDonald’s.’
After sitting down, she picked up the chips with her fingers, before doing the same to the fish, dipping it in the tartar sauce and squeezing the lemon.
She also tried Shepherd’s Pie for the first time, luckily this time with a fork.
However, she wasn’t too impressed, concluding, “It just tastes like loaded mashed potatoes.”
