Patrick Mahomes helped off the field in devastating injury blow for Kansas City Chiefs

Patrick Mahomes appeared to injure his left leg after awkwardly planting it during the Chiefs’ game against the Buccaneers on Monday night.

As he darted forward with the ball and stopped to turn it to Samaje Perine in the end zone, the Chiefs quarterback’s left leg suddenly jerked, causing him obvious discomfort early in the fourth quarter.

Mahomes then had to be helped off the field after the bizarre injury at Arrowhead Stadium.

However, it was eventually confirmed that he would return to the match despite a reported ankle injury.
