Influencer Steph Claire Smith is slammed by fans for sharing explicit details about her sex injury: ‘Overdone and attention seeking’
Steph Claire Smith was criticized by fans on Monday when she shared explicit details about her sex life with husband Josh Miller.
The influencer, 30, opened up about a recent sexual injury on her KICPOD podcast and spared no grisly details, leaving her Instagram followers cringing.
Her extremely moving story about a sex toy accident sparked online comments from listeners who said Steph should ‘keep it to herself’ and stop ‘attention seeking’.
“What happens to your husband in the bedroom, gotta stay in the bedroom… where is the respect and privacy these days?” one person commented.
‘Oh god. Keep it to yourself. This overly outward sexual chat is so over the top and attention seeking,” another added.
A third wrote: “It’s 7am,” while someone else said the explicit podcast part was “weird and awkward.”
Other fans said they found it ‘weird’. Steph and her co-host Laura Henshaw have decided to ‘talk openly’ about their sex life.
‘I just don’t find it very appealing and I definitely wouldn’t want my daughter listening to this kind of content. Sad because I really looked up to both of you,” they said.

“Harvey will love this in the future,” another added sarcastically, referring to Steph’s three-year-old son who she shares with Miller.
Someone else fumed: ‘Desperate for attention and listeners. Your podcast is boring. You have to [go] back to the drawing board. Be more creative.’
Despite the backlash, some loyal fans came to Steph’s defense, condemning her naysayers and saying they were thrilled to hear the influencer was open about her personal life.
‘Comment section is boring! I appreciate you being open about it [sex]. Give the people what they want (at least those of us who aren’t crippled),” one person wrote.
Another said: ‘The comments are just as funny as [the] fragment! This isn’t anything normal girlfriends don’t talk about, they just extend it to us, I’m here for it.”
‘Had the biggest giggles listening to this at work. I love it!’ a third added, while one user said Steph’s critics were ‘pathetic’.
When contacted for comment on the backlash, Steph told Ny Breaking Australia: “The subject of sex shouldn’t be so taboo.”
She added: “Laura and I have built the trust to speak about who we are and what we stand for, and to discuss the issues we care about.
‘When it comes to being more open about our sex lives, we have been doing that for a few years.
“We are two women in our thirties who are very comfortable with ourselves, our bodies and the idea of people knowing that we are sexually active.”
It’s the second time in as many months that the health and fitness influencer has received backlash from her followers.
Her story sparked online comments from listeners who said Steph should ‘keep it to herself’ and stop ‘seeking attention’.
Steph hit back at critics in early September when she came under fire for going to the gym with her toddler son Harvey.
She shared a video of herself at the gym with her son in tow, prompting mom-shaming trolls to criticize her for not going without Harvey again.
One follower commented: ‘If it was your day with him why did you have to go to the gym? Wouldn’t you like to do fun things with him?’
In a now-deleted TikTok post and Instagram reel, Steph clapped back at her critics, saying she “didn’t need anyone else’s judgement.”
She said angrily, “If it’s not your way of parenting, fine, but making this kind of judgment publicly is just so unnecessary.
“This comment was on my last roll of film, where I showed myself working out at the gym and taking Harvey with me for the first time.”
Steph also emphasized that making time to exercise is not a selfish act on a parent’s part and suggested that taking a toddler to the gym is a way to instill a healthy lifestyle.
