Struggling Las Vegas Raiders fire THREE of its top coaches amid awful 2-7 start to the season
The Las Vegas Raiders have pulled the trigger and fired three of their top coaches in an attempt to turn around a dismal start to the NFL season.
Offensive coordinator Luke Getsy, offensive line coach James Cregg and quarterbacks coach Rich Scangarello have all been given the opportunity just nine games into their Raiders careers.
The team is 2-7 to start the 2024 season and suffered a terrible 41-24 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, bringing their losing streak to five games.
It is the team’s worst performance since 2018 and now management has decided to take action as owner Mark Davis grows increasingly concerned as he watches from the stands.
Head coach Antonio Pierce said after the game, “It wasn’t a good day at the office. It applies to all of us. I mean, it’s a group effort. It’s a team effort.

“We all have to find a way to do better. We want to highlight the details of this game and look at a lot of things from coaches to play calling, players and execution to situations that we can all do a lot better and put ourselves in a position to go into the fourth quarter and actually have a chance to to win – not always playing catch-up.’
Getsy, Cregg and Scangarello were all in their first seasons with the Raiders, but the offense — first led by quarterback Aidan O’Connell and now Gardner Minshew — has dried up.
During their current five-game losing streak, the Raiders have scored just four touchdowns on 50 drives, three of which came in the closing minutes of games when they were trailing by more than 20 points.

It’s especially a fall from grace for Getsy, who impressed in his previous role with the Chicago Bears, where he orchestrated the No. 1 and 2 rushing offenses in the NFL during the 2022 and 2023 seasons, respectively.
Getsy was fired by the Bears in January and hired by the Raiders in February, and had been moved from the field to the press box two weeks ago to call plays.
The Raiders now enter their bye week in search of a new OC before traveling to Miami to face the Dolphins in Week 11.
