Raygun comes clean on rumours she’s going to star on TV after shooting to worldwide fame at the Olympics

  • A performance in Paris put her name in the spotlight

Australian Olympic breakdancing sensation Raygun has responded to rumors she is heading to a reality TV show following her infamous viral performance at the Paris Games.

Rachael Gunn, also known by her nickname Raygun, became a source of worldwide ridicule during the Olympic Games in August.

Dressed in an Australian tracksuit that looked more like a cricket uniform than a breakdancing outfit, Raygun jumped like a kangaroo and slithered across the floor like a snake in a routine that failed to impress the judges.

Now that she has returned to Australia after a European holiday, the dancer appears to be striking while the iron is hot and making the most of her newfound fame.

The controversial wrecker has been photographed with stars, showing off a stunning new look on the cover of a magazine and appearing in several radio interviews.

However, she has ruled out doing reality TV.

“There were a lot of reality TV requests,” Raygun told Nova Radio.

The 37-year-old was rumored to appear in the jungle for Ten’s I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here – but she’s not interested.

“As someone who went viral for his performance at the Olympics, I think I have a very memeable face, it’s very expressive,” she said.

“And I just feel like going on reality television… I just feel like it’s just not the right move to go on reality television.”

The unlikely Australian icon admits her world has been turned upside down since she shot to fame.

“It was so hard to process,” she told Stellar magazine.

‘My whole world has changed. My identity has changed. My relationships have changed, for better or worse.

‘Unfortunately, in times like these you find out who your real friends are. And because things are still changing, it’s just impossible to keep your wits about you.

‘It’s hard to predict what it will be like when I leave home.

‘It’s still a process because I have to prioritize my own health.

“I talk to my family when I can, but it’s hard for me to know the toll it’s taking on them because I think it’s going to take a toll on me.”

Plus, she’s recently received a new honor on the front lawns of Australian homes, with handmade tributes to her routine set up for Halloween.

Many Aussies also dressed up as Raygun for Halloween, including Matilda Cortnee Vine.

Meanwhile, Raygun revealed her own encounter with a fan dressed in her iconic trick-or-treating costume.

“I came home from the shops and saw someone dressed as me trick-or-treating,” she told The Fox’s Fifi, Fev & Nick.

“I rolled down the window and said, ‘I love your costume,’ and they were amazed!’
