Tom Brady in fresh NFL controversy with comments live on air – a week after Josh Allen ‘slur’ scandal

Tom Brady could be in trouble with the NFL for his comments regarding Brian Branch’s controversial ejection during the Detroit Lions vs Green Bay Packers.

Brady is not allowed to publicly criticize NFL referees in his work as an analyst for Fox because he is also part owner of the Las Vegas Raiders.

The rules were drafted and agreed to with Brady and the league last month, when his stake in the franchise was finally approved after months of debate and investigation.

But Brady, who also has a 10-year, $375 million deal with Fox to call NFL games, appeared to break those rules Sunday afternoon.

“I don’t like that call at all,” Brady said. “It’s obviously a penalty, but for me that has to be a serious intention in a match like this.”

Branch was ejected after hitting Packers receiver Bo Melton in the head with an incomplete pass.

He was flagged for unnecessary roughness before the league’s New York office reviewed the play and intervened, telling the referee Branch that he should be ejected.

Branch was furious and clearly angry as he left the field, with the scenes prompting Brady to give his opinion on what happened.

Last week, Brady was criticized for describing Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen live on air as “a spaz.”

Brady said: “Sometimes he played like a spaz, like an elementary school boy on a sugar high, but now he’s in control of the chaos. He’s like a storm coming into town and you don’t want that storm coming into this town.”

The latest incident marks another difficult moment for Brady in a week in which his supermodel ex-wife Gisele Bundchen announced she was pregnant at the age of 44 by her jiu-jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente.

Brady, 47, appeared to respond to the news with a cryptic post on Instagram.

‘O mirror in the sky, what is love?’ Brady wrote next to a photo of the setting sun. The words, posted to Instagram on Monday evening, are lyrics from the Fleetwood Mac song ‘Landslide’. The 1975 hit was later covered by The Chicks.

Brady added audio to the story, with users hearing, “Oh, mirror in the sky, what is love? Can the child in my heart rise above it? Can I sail through the changing tides of the ocean?’

Brady and Bundchen were married for 13 years before calling it quits in October 2022. Shortly after the divorce, Bundchen began dating Valente, who was pictured as her instructor during her wedding. The supermodel denied cheating allegations following their split.

Their separation also came after Brady withdrew his initial retirement from the NFL to return for one more season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
