Sarah Palin, 60, defends ‘horrifying’ low-cut outfit that sent NewsNation viewers into a spin

Sarah Palin had some strong words for those who took issue with her outfit last Wednesday — after appearing on NewsNation’s “Cuomo” alongside Fox News host Bill O’Reilly and sports pundit Stephen A. Smith.

The appearance took place during a town hall hosted by Chris Cuomo around the upcoming election, but some seemed more interested in the former vice presidential candidate’s dress than what she said.

Discussions about gender and polls instead gave way to discourse about Palin’s black mini — a common take on the conservative that seemed to spark outrage.

Comments labeling her look “shameful” and “horrible.”[ying]’ followed, prompting a devastating blow from Alaska’s former governor.

The post, full of laughing emojis and hashtags such as #getalife, showed how she had donned the exact same dress in the past – to a very different reception.

‘[Y]You know how many times I’ve worn the same dress and I only took one look at you yahoos until your crazy reporting on it days before the election[?],” the irritated post began.

“#distraction #getalife,” the message continued, with the 60-year-old Republican portraying her critics as both “shallow” and “confused.”

The word “condemnation” also appeared in the rebuke, which came in response to a series of inflammatory comments and subsequent news reports.

It also included video of the sit-down in question – specifically, a segment in which Palin emphasized the importance of drilling as a means of obtaining usable energy.

“I understand the inherent connection between energy and security, and energy and prosperity,” Palin tells Cuomo in the seconds-long clip.

“Our country – especially our state, Alaska – is so blessed with natural resources. God simply dumped these resources for responsible use.”

An accompanying hashtag highlighted #drillbabydrill – now a calling card of the Donald Trump campaign.

Palin has made it clear that she supports Trump in the upcoming elections, along with his policies that would rely more heavily on the US’s continued use of fossil fuels.

After referencing that part of the interview in her post, Palin expanded on the haters, citing one tweet in particular in which a user said they were “shocked” by what they had seen.

‘[Y]Our haters are ‘shocked’ at the dress I just wore to @chrisccuomo,” Palin proclaimed – before reprimanding them and apparently laughing it off.

The post she responded to read: ‘I’ve always defended Sarah but I was shocked when I saw her outfit!!!

“WRONG for the occasion,” it continued.

“Did she think she was going on a blind date?”

Others said more of the same, with one snap: “Her outfit was an absolute disgrace and disgrace.”

“I think the men were uncomfortable, and she certainly was,” another added, claiming that Palin was “trying to cover up and hide the exposure” at some points.

‘Embarrassing.’

Such claims seemed completely baseless, but still received a response from the former vice presidential candidate.

At one point in the interview, she claimed that gender is no longer a “big deal” these days as the race between Vice President Kamala Harris and Trump heats up.

“Personally, I don’t think gender is that big of an issue in this race,” Palin told a retired O’Reilly and ESPN’s Smith.

When O’Reilly pointed to polls showing clear differences in preferences between genders, Palin steered the topic towards abortion – with her position somewhat moderate.

“Well, I don’t know, but I do know when I… the only time gender becomes an issue for me is when I hear men advocating for or… for or against abortion,” she told O’ Reilly.

And I think, you know, when they talk about a woman’s feelings and what they… what they go through to make the decision, I say, ‘You guys, you don’t know. You weren’t there.”

She further discussed how her position on abortion aligns with that of Trump, who has vowed in recent months to veto a hypothetical national abortion ban while insisting that laws on the issue should be left to individual states.

“Maybe that’s the issue for a lot of single-issue voters, but that’s not the most important thing in this election,” Palin said.

Of Trump, she claimed, “he is not preventing anyone’s chance to end a pregnancy.”

“He supports the Supreme Court’s decision on Roe v. Wade [should’ve] It was decided long ago, in reverse, to allow the states to allow their people to vote on it,” she continued.

Smith was the next to intervene, claiming that “federal rights are being taken away” because of the Supreme Court’s surprise ruling, which ignored an overarching law.

The outspoken critic referred to Michelle Obama’s recent speech in Michigan, where she said that women’s lives would be at risk if Trump were elected.

Palin responded by saying she believed Obama was “trying to paint an image of women not having as many rights as men,” before proudly labeling America as “a country of equal opportunity.”
