Sports world reacts to Jason Kelce smashing fan’s phone for calling Travis a ‘f*****’ over Taylor Swift

The sports world stood with Jason Kelce after a video surfaced of him slamming a fan’s phone into the ground in response to taunts about his brother.

The older Kelce brother and recently retired NFL star was at Penn State for the school’s big college football game against Ohio State on Saturday when he was egged on by a fan.

“Hey Kelce! How do you feel about your brother being in love with dating Taylor Swift?” a fan shouted at him.

Kelce continued to chase the homophobic slur before turning around, grabbing the phone from the fan and angrily slamming it to the ground. He then picked it up again and said: ‘who the f***** now?’ before you walk away.

‘No man! I agree with J here. You can’t just meet people who say what you want and behave the way you want! This was BS,” NFL analyst Ryan Clark said on X.

The fan could be heard calling his brother Travis a “f*****.”

He continued: “Homophobic comments about this man’s brother for absolutely no reason. There should be someone to keep people away from J in these cases! You know why.’

Dave Portnoy, founder of Barstool Sports, stood by Kelce’s side, writing on

Portnoy then shared a screenshot of the viral video in which the fan has a clenched fist as Kelce threw the phone to the ground.

“I love this loser who clenched his fist after Kelce emasculated him like he was going to do something,” he wrote.

Clay Travis, the founder of Outkick who was present at the game in question, wrote on X: “1. Great game. Great scene. Phenomenal time. 2. No one likes a phone in their face/insult, no matter what they say.

‘3. If Kelce had broken his phone or punched it, he would have been in less trouble than if he used a gay slur, which is wild. 4. Reject him and call him ab**** or just ignore him and there is no story here. 5. Reminds me of Beth Dutton last season of Yellowstone.”

Kelce also received support from Antonio Brown, who shared the clip and wrote, “I mean well for Jason Kelce.

“There’s comedy and entertainment. And then there is the crossing of borders with (sic) family.’

Will Compton, an ex-NFL player who now hosts the podcast “Bussin’ with the boys,” wrote on X: “Yes, yes, Jason Kelce. F*** that guy.”

The Kelce family has not yet formally commented on the incident. Swift, meanwhile, will perform in Indianapolis on Saturday night during the second of three shows in the city – her final three Eras Tour dates in the United States.

Kelce had a rude awakening earlier on Saturday when he hilariously missed a field goal just weeks after knocking down NFL kickers.

He was invited to participate in Pat McAfee’s famous kicking match at Penn State on ESPN’s College Game Day show.

McAfee, a former NFL kicker with the Indianapolis Colts, challenges a fan to complete a kick every week in exchange for a cash prize.

Last month on the Kelce brothers’ New Heights podcast, Jason demanded that the NFL goalposts be made smaller because kickers have too much influence on games.

In response, McAfee challenged the Philadelphia Eagles legend to attempt a kick in exchange for a $100,000 donation to the hurricane relief fund.

Wearing Timberland boots, Kelce-teen kicked his effort well to the left of the posts.

McAfee then gave him a second chance, but Kelce was again well off target in front of hundreds of fans. He hilariously admitted afterwards: ‘I’m bad at kicking’.
