Trick-or-treater selflessly fills up an empty bowl of lollies with his own stash of candy

A young trick-or-treater showed an unexpected level of generosity this Halloween when he decided to fill an empty bowl of lollipops with his own candy.

Tahdyn Butterworth had stopped by a home in Adelaide on Thursday when he noticed that all the lollipops handed out by the homeowner had already been taken.

The 11-year-old then decided to selflessly reach into his own bag and pull out two large handfuls of candy to fill the bowl for the next visitors.

Taydyn’s act of kindness was captured on the home’s Ring camera at the door, with the 11-year-old smiling and waving at the camera before leaving.

“I wanted to go get some candy but there was nothing in it, so I grabbed some from mine, like two handfuls,” he told Seven News.

The video of Tahdyn refilling the bowl went viral on social media, with dozens of people applauding the boy for sharing his loot.

“He will grow into a caring and thoughtful gentleman… Such a little legend,” one woman said.

‘I saw a lot of kids doing this. Even share from your own bucket with other children on the street. Children are generally kind-hearted. Well done to this young boy,” a second added.

“He’s going for the right team,” said a third, pointing to Tahdyn’s Adelaide Crows AFL jersey.
