New coaches for The Voice Australia are ‘revealed’ after Guy Sebastian’s sudden exit from singing show

It looks like The Voice Australia will be shaking up a major cast following Guy Sebastian’s shock departure from the singing competition this week.

Reports have emerged that current coaches Kate Miller-Heidke and Adam Lambert are set to follow the 43-year-old hitmaker out the door.

And an insider has claimed that the network is trying to lure former fan favorites, including Keith Urban, back as coaches.

“The line-up Channel Seven wants is Keith Urban, Jessica Mauboy, Ronan Keating and LeAnn Rimes,” a source said. Yahoo lifestyle on Saturday.

Urban, 57, last appeared as a coach on the reality hit in 2022 and fans were ecstatic when he appeared as a guest earlier this year.

“Keith was asked if he would return as he recorded a performance for the grand finale and was open to the idea – as long as it would fit in with his wife Nicole Kidman’s plans to be back in Australia at the same time,” the insider said .

The source also confirmed that American singer Rimes, 42, will likely return in 2025.

“Leading up to this year’s finale, LeAnn’s management continued to talk about the next series and what she plans to do differently,” the insider added.

They also said that fans shouldn’t expect this Kate back since she seemed ‘a bit out of place’ on the show.

Meanwhile, Ronan Keating, 47, last appeared on The Voice Australia in 2016, appearing as a judge for the series in the UK and Germany.

The source said the former Boyzone singer was keen to appear on the Australian version of the show again.

It comes next Sebastian sensationally quit The Voice Australia on Wednesday.

The Australian Idol winner shared the lengthy shock announcement on Instagram via several black and white slides.

He started by congratulating the show’s current winner, Reuben De Melo, before explaining how he came to his dramatic decision.

“I have some news to share with you all about my role as a voice coach,” he began.

‘I have made the decision to take a break from the best red chair in the world.

“It’s been six great years as a coach and it was honestly the best performance ever! I have nothing but good things to say about the show itself, and it was a pleasure to share the panel with such great coaches.”

He then reflected on his time on the show.

“The best thing about the show is how positive it is and how much care and passion goes into making it a safe space for artists,” he continued.

‘For me it is now time to focus more on my core, namely writing and performing new music.

“I’m busy planning shows in Australia and worldwide and I’m really looking forward to getting out there and connecting with all of you there.”

The Angels Brought Me Here singer concluded by talking about his upcoming album, which he has poured his heart and soul into for the past four years, before ending with a warning.

“Whoever has the audacity to take my seat, don’t get too comfortable… I will struggle back for it without any dignity when I am ready to return,” he wrote.

Channel Seven was quick to express their well wishes.

“Guy has been a powerful coach for The Voice on Seven. His mentorship and mastery of artistry have been inspiring to both our Voice artists and viewers, as well as the production team and everyone at Seven,” said Seven Network Chief Content Officer, Brook Hall.

‘We thank Guy for his continued passion and positive energy on set, and wish him all the best for next year, the release of his new album and his live shows.
