Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law slams Australia’s Ambassador to the US Kevin Rudd: ‘We would choose someone else’

Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law is questioning whether Australia’s ambassador to the United States, Kevin Rudd, will be the best fit for him in Washington.

Lara Trump, Eric Trump’s wife and chairman of the Republican National Committee, slammed Kevin Rudd after he described her father-in-law as a “traitor to the West” during a conversation with Sky News presenter Erin Molan.

Mrs Trump said it would be “quite difficult” for the government to keep Kevin Rudd in Washington if he had not shown signs of a “change of heart” towards Trump.

“It’s not my decision, but I do think it would be nice to have someone who appreciates what Donald Trump has been through and wants to serve our country at this moment, this really pivotal moment in America’s history,” he said. them.

“Obviously, this is a bit difficult to accept, and we might want to choose someone else (for the top job at the US embassy).”

Mrs Trump also directly addressed Mr Rudd’s comments.

“Donald Trump is of course the opposite of a traitor to the West, he is literally saving the free world,” she said.

“For the first time in 82 years, we have had no new wars under his leadership and the world agrees that we now want to get back to that.”

When Trump learned of Rudd’s comments in an interview with Nigel Farage in March, he described the Australian diplomat as “not the brightest light” and “annoying.”

“Donald Trump is a traitor to the West,” Rudd wrote to X at the time.

Murdoch was Trump’s biggest backer. And Murdoch’s Fox Television also supports Putin. What a disgusting betrayal.’

In 2020, Rudd called Trump “the most destructive president in history.”

‘He is dragging America and democracy through the mud. He thrives on stoking division, not healing it,” he wrote.

‘He abuses Christianity, the church and the Bible to justify violence. All helped by Murdoch’s FoxNews network in America, which fuels this.’
