Tyreek Hill responds to child’s Halloween costume of his Miami arrest
Tyreek Hill apparently laughed off a controversial Halloween costume that mimicked his Week 1 arrest in Miami.
On Thursday, a trio of children went viral after two dressed as police officers while handcuffing the third, dressed in a Hill Dolphins jersey and football gear.
While social media users decried the photo making fun of the controversial traffic stop, the star wide receiver responded light-heartedly to the group costume.
Hill reposted the photo to
The inspiration for the photo took place outside Hard Rock Stadium prior to Miami’s season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Hill was pulled from his car, handcuffed and pinned to the ground near Hard Rock Stadium
During a traffic stop, the wide receiver was pulled from his car and handcuffed to the ground.
While he was released and scored a touchdown in their 20–17 victory, the excessive force used by officers during his detention drew widespread criticism from fans and media.
“This saga with the police on @cheetah isn’t going away, damnit,” Stephen A. Smith wrote before drawing comparisons to Scottie Scheffler’s arrest in May. ‘Traffic violation? Fine. But WTH was he face down in handcuffs, stood up, and then the other officer ran after him and pushed him to the ground again??? Hell No! Excessive! Wrong! Again, this isn’t going away.’
“See for yourself,” Smith added. ‘This is completely unnecessary. And by the way… I know the Scottie Scheffler incident happened in Georgia – not Florida – and he was arrested, detained and booked.”
Cheetah later discussed the incident in a one-on-one interview with Taylor Rooks. He then admitted that he had not approached the situation in the best way, which led to unnecessary rudeness.

However, he also revealed that one of the officers tried to get a response from him during his arrest.
“I tried to meet in the middle and say, ‘Here’s my ID,’ and I barely go out my window. It’s crazy to think about it now. Does that give them the right to pull me out of my car? No. It does not give them the right to lay their hands on me, to oppose me.
“A lot of stuff like that happened… every time I was handcuffed behind my back, the officer would squeeze my neck. For example, by trying to get me to do something with him.’
“I just feel like this doesn’t properly represent the name on the back of my jersey,” Hill added. “The flip side is that it’s great because I get the chance to at least try to raise awareness [what] This entire province has been trying to fix something for the last 10 years.”
‘There are advantages and disadvantages in every situation, it’s what you do that matters. You learn from your situation, you hold yourself accountable. For example, how can you get better?’
“Let’s not get angry, let’s learn,” Hill tells his family. Because the more we get angry, it feels like it sets us back. It’s all about responsibility on both sides.’
After their opening day win, the Dolphins have struggled and are 2-5 in third place in the AFC East.
