Suspects in strip club shooting of NFL player Josh Reynolds charged with attempted murder
The suspects involved in the shooting of Denver Broncos player Josh Reynolds after he left a strip club have been charged with attempted murder.
The two men involved are named Burr Charlesworth and Luis Mendoza. according to 9News.
Mendoza has been charged with 23 crimes, including six counts of attempted first-degree murder, six counts of first-degree assault and three counts of drug possession.
Charlesworth has since filed 15 charges, including six attempted first-degree murder.
Reynolds had been at Shotgun Willie’s in Glendale, Colorado until almost 3 a.m. that evening with two male acquaintances.
Reynolds was hit in the back of the head and his arm, according to police, but the injuries were described as minor and no one else was seriously injured.
The Broncos said in a team statement at the time that Reynolds required treatment for minor injuries.
The 29-year-old Reynolds, a wide receiver, is in his eighth NFL season and signed a two-year, $9 million deal to join the Broncos earlier this year.
Reynolds is on a four-week injured reserve list due to a broken finger following his team’s win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Oct. 6.
