NFL Hall of Famer Brett Favre slams Joe Biden’s ‘garbage’ outburst during speech at Donald Trump rally

Brett Favre responded to US President Joe Biden labeling Donald Trump’s supporters as “trash” while speaking at the Republican presidential candidate’s rally in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Biden’s outburst came during a Zoom call with supporters on Tuesday. After comedian Tony Hinchcliffe compared Puerto Rico to a “floating island of trash,” Biden directed the analogy at the former president’s supporters.

Before opening his speech Wednesday night, the former quarterback shut down Biden’s claim to the podium.

“I can assure you we’re not shit,” Favre said. “How dare he say that?”

“I see police officers, teachers, nurses, grandparents, students. I see everyday Americans making this country great,” he continued as the crowd cheered in approval.

“There has never been a more important moment in our lives than right now, during these elections,” his introduction continued.

“The stakes are incredibly high,” he said in his speech. “Families across Wisconsin are struggling to make ends meet. People’s salaries have not kept up with inflation. It is becoming increasingly difficult for young people to buy their first home. People are losing hope in the American dream.”

Favre cited the 50 fentanyl overdoses in Brown County, Wisconsin, last year, claiming it wasn’t just about money. He also highlighted how the younger generation is facing[s] the prospect of World War III.’

“We’ve had President Trump before – we’ve already seen Kamala in action. We can compare and we know which one is better,” Favre continued. “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results… It would be insane to give Kamala another four years in power. So it’s time to bench Kamala and use the star quarterback.”

‘The US is a great country. But we all know this: Kamala broke it. Trump will solve it,” Favre added. “I have lived the American dream, but I want to ensure that future generations achieve it too. So remember this: Let’s make America great again.”

Following his remarks, Trump showed his gratitude to Favre for singing his praises.

“Thanks, Brett. What a great honor. What a great champion,” Trump said shortly after taking the stage at the Resch Center. Trump also compared Favre’s fingers to “sausages” and said, “No wonder he could throw the ball.”

“I’m a little upset because I think he got more applause than I did, and I’m not happy,” the former president said, joking about the ovation Favre received in a county Trump narrowly won in 2020.

Favre, who won three NFL Most Valuable Player awards and a Super Bowl for Green Bay in the 1990s, praised Trump before the former president’s arrival, telling the crowd, “Like the Packer organization, Donald Trump and his organization were a winner.’
