Yankees fans banned from World Series Game 5 after Mookie Betts incident – despite saying they’d be back

The two Yankees fans involved in the Mookie Betts incident in Game 4 of the World Series will not be allowed to return tonight.

According to the New York Postwill get their tickets refunded for Game 5 after trying to snatch the ball out of Betts’ glove when Dodgers star Gleyber caught Torres near the wall in foul territory.

“I know when I’m wrong and as soon as I did it I thought, ‘Guys, I’m out of here.’ I patrol that wall and they know it,” Yankees season ticket holder Austin Capobianco told ESPN.

‘In our environment we always joke about the ball. Someone defends, someone knocks the ball. We talk about it. We are prepared to do this.’

Capobianco told ESPN he was told he could return Wednesday night, but that is no longer the case. ESPN also reported this later on Wednesday that MLB asked the Yankees to ban Capobianco and his friend.

NFL legend Rob Gronkowski revealed Wednesday that he knows Capobianco personally and was not surprised to see what happened during the game.

The Yankees defeated the Dodgers 11-4 on Tuesday to keep the World Series alive, but Los Angeles still holds a commanding 3-1 lead.

The Yankees need to win in the Bronx on Wednesday. If they do, the final two games will be held Friday and Saturday nights at Dodger Stadium.
