Matt Healy sneaks into Sydney incognito as the 1975 frontman is spotted cuddling up to fans at Gladiator II premiere
Matt Healy has arrived Down Under incognito as he was spotted skipping the red carpet at the Gladiator II event and chatting to fans.
The 1975 frontman, 35, snuck into ICC Sydney’s Darling Harbor Theater and flew under the radar as he posed for photos with fans.
The Somebody Else hitmaker was all smiles as he cuddled up with them in several videos shared on TikTok and X, formerly known as Twitter.
One fan talked about his experience meeting Matt at the premiere, saying, “He was so down to earth. He was so nice. He spoke to us. He asked my name.’
Matt is currently in Australia supporting his fiancée Gabbriette Bechtel, who recently revealed to ELLE US that she is Down Under filming her latest movie.
The model stars in I Never Forget What You Did Last Summer alongside Outer Banks star Madelyn Cline and Bodies Bodies Bodies actor Chase Sui.
It comes after Matt appeared to throw shade at his ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift, saying he was ‘not interested’ in writing music about his ‘casual romantic liaisons’.
The 1975 singer briefly dated the pop superstar, 34, last year after splitting from her long-term boyfriend Joe Alwyn, but they split in June 2023.

Despite the brief relationship, Matt became the surprise focus on a number of songs on her latest album The Tortured Poets Department, which was released in April this year.
It is widely believed that Taylor takes aim at him in songs including The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived and Fortnight (feat. Post Malone), prompting renewed fan inquiry into the period in which they dated.
And Matt recently seemed to take a sly dig at the hitmaker’s frequent choice to write songs about her past romances, calling it such an “obvious thing to draw from” that he finds “not interesting.”
Matt appeared on Joshua Citarella’s podcast Doomscroll on Tuesday and stated that he didn’t want to write about affairs for which he has “become known.”

He said: “Last year I became a much more famous public figure for a lot of different reasons. The only reason I was interested in is what I was doing.
“So I think a lot of artists become very interested in their knowledge, or they become interested in the things that have happened outside of their art that people know about, and they want to address that, and fair enough.”
He continued, “Maybe on my first record, when it was very much a series of diary entries, like little bits of heartbreak, I wrote a lot more about relationships and things like that.
“But honestly, I’d just be lying if I made a record about, I don’t know, all the things that have been said about me or my casual romantic liaisons or whatever it is that I’ve become somewhat famous for. just because I was famous.’
Subtly lashing out at artists who use their romances as inspiration, he said: “I think that’s an obvious thing to draw from and I’m just not interested in it. And I think maintaining the status quo is something I always like to fight against.

“So the idea of making a record about something that happened to me personally will be about two years old by the time I release it.” I see people doing that too, and it’s not interesting.’
Taylor has written a number of songs believed to be about her past romantic partners, including Harry Styles, Jake Gyllenhaal, John Mayer and Joe Jonas.
Her eleventh album, The Tortured Poets Department, referenced current boyfriend Travis Kelce, as well as exes Joe and Matt.
Matt is now engaged to Gabbriette, who he was first spotted kissing in New York last September.
