Yankees fans reveal eye-watering amounts they spent on World Series tickets before Game 3 loss to the Dodgers
New York Yankees fans weren’t afraid to spend money on tickets after the World Series moved to the Bronx for Game 3 on Monday night.
Game 3 was the first World Series game at Yankee Stadium since the Bronx Bombers won their 27th title against Philadelphia in 2009. Despite trailing 0-2 in the series, diehards left dents in their bank accounts to root for their team.
Before the game, fans outside the stadium announced the various amounts they paid to secure seats before the Los Angeles Dodgers took a commanding 3-0 lead.
The highest prices revealed by subjects were $4,000 and $3,000. The average amounts were $2,600 and $2,500, while a few paid $1,600, $1,300 and $1,200.
Another fan revealed that he and others paid $550 due to season ticket pre-sales.

“You’ve got to win tonight to make it worth it,” one fan told DailyMail.com.
“If we’re from the Bronx, we spend that money,” claimed another big spender.
“I sold my brother for a ticket but we got it,” joked a third fan, who kept his ticket price secret. “All my tuition is gone.”
Meanwhile, other fans revealed that the rare opportunity to see the franchise compete for a title makes the expenditure worth it. Another also mentioned family ties as a reason for tying the knot.
‘[I spent] $2,500 each but she really wanted to go, that’s my daughter,” said one devoted fan as he hugged his daughter.
“I wouldn’t say it’s an easy purchase for most of us,” someone else chimed in. ‘But at the end of the day it’s a lifelong commitment. If I have to spend the $1,300, then so be it.”
The Yankees are now on the verge of being swept in their first World Series since 2019
The Dodgers came back in overtime to win Game 1 before securing two more wins
Unfortunately, the Dodgers’ grip on the helm tightened after the 4-2 win in the Big Apple. The third win followed a 6-3 comeback in Game 1 and another 4-2 win in Game 2 at Dodger Stadium.
The Yankees hope to begin an inspiring comeback on Tuesday in Game 4 in the Bronx. Meanwhile, the Dodgers try to complete the mission on the road and make it home to a hero’s welcome in the City of Angels.
Game 4 kicks off on Tuesday, October 29 at 8:08 PM ET.
