The Turtle Beach Stealth Pivot game controller can turn itself into a mini fighting stick
A few years ago, Victrix released a game controller with interchangeable buttons on the front. The Pro-PFG for PC and PlayStation 5 could transform from a standard controller format to a portable fighting stick. Since then, so have Victrix and its parent company PDP acquired by Turtle Beachwhich today unveiled the spiritual successor to the modular controller. The Turtle Beach Stealth Pivot works as both a wired and wireless controller (via Bluetooth 5.2 and a 2.4 GHz dongle) for Xbox consoles, PC, Android and other smart devices. It is now available for pre-order for $129.99 ahead of its November 26 launch.
The Turtle Beach Stealth Pivot retains the spirit of the Pro PFG, but replaces changing the faceplate with a rotation mechanism; Instead of having to keep track of different parts, here you can simply twist the left and right modules to reveal a second configuration. The right module can switch between a Hall Effect thumbstick and the traditional four-button layout to a six-button layout that looks more like a fighting stick. Similarly, the left module can rotate between a Hall Effect thumbstick and a directional pad layout to just the directional pad and two additional buttons. Both sides run independently, so you can mix and match based on your style and the game you’re playing.
As with other Turtle Beach products, audio is a key feature here, with a 3.5mm headphone jack and dedicated audio mixing functions accessible via the controller’s Command Display, where you can also adjust button assignments. The Command Display can be programmed to show ‘social notifications from your phone for all your favorite social media platforms’, which is simultaneously a handy way to avoid reaching for your phone and perhaps the biggest distraction in the middle of the match – both fun in their own way!
