Matt LeBlanc sparks concerns he may be ‘unravelling’ a year on from Matthew Perry’s death as Friends co-stars are ‘keeping an eye on him’
Matt LeBlanc has sparked concerns he could “unravel” a year after the death of his Friends co-star Matthew Perry, it is claimed.
The actor, 57, has rarely been seen in public since Matthew’s death on October 28, 2023, and some of his fellow Friends actors are said to be worried about him.
Matt sparked concern among friends after his disheveled appearance in September, according to a source for InTouch Weekly, after TMZ obtained photos of him.
The insider claimed that stars like Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox have expressed their concerns about Matt.
The two stars are said to have made an effort in recent weeks to spend more time with him and ensure that at least one of them keeps an eye on him.

A source said that Jennifer has been “spending a lot of time with Matt at his house… cooking for him, or just hanging out and watching movies, or sitting and chatting.
‘She even stayed over a few times. And both she and Courteney have been in contact to make sure at least one of them is around to keep an eye on him.”
Matt is no doubt still grieving the death of his good friend Matthew.
Not only were they friends on the show, but they were also close in real life and were neighbors around the time of Matthew’s death, both living in Pacific Palisades.
Matt was the first of the Friends cast to publicly pay tribute to Matthew following the heartbreaking news of his death.
He wrote on Instagram: ‘Matthew. It is with a heavy heart that I say goodbye. The times we had together are honestly some of the favorite times of my life.
“It was an honor to share the stage with you and call you my friend. I will always smile when I think of you and I will never forget you. Never.
‘Spread your wings and fly, brother, you are finally free. Lots of love. And I guess you’ll keep the twenty dollars you owe me.”

Speak with The TelegraphPR and image management consultant Natalie Trice said: ‘Grief is such a personal journey, and no one can really understand what someone is going through behind the scenes, and as a star this must be very difficult.’
Matt hasn’t appeared in any film or TV projects since the 2021 Friends HBO reunion special, previously saying he was “taking some time off.”
Although the actor, who is reportedly worth $85 million, will never have to work again, friends are reportedly worried that grief could consume him if he doesn’t have a project to focus on.
Trice said: “All of the Friends cast have faced challenges beyond their iconic roles, as the show’s success set the bar incredibly high. How do you shake off that label and find equally defining projects?’
This isn’t the first time Matt has been concerned about not being seen in public very often.
He told an interviewer earlier in 2012 that he is more introverted than his character Joey Tribbiani who made him so famous.

He said: ‘People will always ask me if I’m okay because I’m much quieter and reserved than my character in Friends.
‘They think I’m depressed or sad or upset, but I just don’t feel like going out in front of an audience and doing a TV show. That’s not who I am.’
Matthew Perry died on October 28, 2023 at the age of 54 after being found unconscious in the hot tub of his LA home.
It was determined that his death was caused by “acute effects of ketamine.”
In August, five people were arrested in connection with his death, supplying him with drugs that led to his overdose.
Doctors Salvador Plasencia, 42, and Mark Chavez, 54, alleged drug dealers Jasveen “Ketamine Queen” Sangha, 41, and Eric Fleming, 54, and Perry’s live-in assistant Kenneth Iwamasa, 59, have all been charged.
