Woman sparks debate after admitting she never washes her face

Controversial influencer Danielle Bernstein, aka WeWoreWhat, has revealed an interesting skincare habit in her routine – and what she does instead.

During a recent appearance on The skinny confidential his and her podcast, Bernstein revealed that she doesn’t wash her face at all.

The topic came up after host Lauryn Bosstick asked the fashion influencer what her favorite skincare hack was.

“Literally, I don’t wash my face,” Bernstein admitted during the podcast, which was cut posted in a clip on TikTok.

When Bosstick seemed completely stunned by the news, especially since the designer was wearing heavy makeup, Bernstein reiterated that she “barely” washes it off.

“I use a Neutrogena makeup wipe, which I know is a no-no, but there are people who have naturally good skin. I don’t really use that many skin care products,” she explained.

Instead, Bernstein said she uses a serum that contains hyaluronic acid and a moisturizer.

Bosstick, still confused, asked how Bernstein removed the makeup from her face.

“I use a makeup wipe and then I just splash water,” she said.

However, the podcast host, who has her own line of skincare products called The Skinny Confidential, told Bernstein that she wasn’t a fan of her makeup wiping technique because it “pulls your skin down.”

Instead, she suggested pulling up the makeup wipe as you remove the product from your face—something Bernstein thankfully does.

“The only thing you’re really pulling on when you use a makeup wipe is your lashes for the mascara, so I always go up, and then I rub up here, instead of down here,” she said, applying the touched the top of her hair. lash line.

However, it looks like Bernstein isn’t the only person with this skincare hack up her sleeve.

In the comments section of the podcast clip, many users admitted that they also don’t wash their faces.

“Not washing my face is the only thing that has helped my skin,” one person wrote.

Another agreed: ‘When I was pregnant I stopped using products and makeup and stopped washing my face… have never had better skin.’

“I thought I was the only one,” someone else echoed.

One commenter typed: ‘Hahaha I do the same thing and believe my skin changed when I stopped using so many products!’

But while some swear by the no-face wash method, dermatologists still recommend washing your face once or twice a day.

“For most people, you only need to cleanse once or twice a day or after sweating,” Mississippi-based dermatologist Dr. Lindsey Zubritsky told DailyMail.com in April.

Dermatologist Dr. Dendy Engelman of the Shafer Clinic in New York recommended cleansing in the morning, especially if you use retinol the night before.

“Morning cleansing is definitely necessary if you use retinol the night before as it can cause sun sensitivity, or if you have a morning workout to remove any oil that may have built up on the skin’s surface,” she said at the time.
