Obama slams Trump for holding ‘racist, sexist, bigoted’ event at Madison Square Garden
Barack Obama blasted Donald Trump for hosting a “racist, sexist, bigoted” event at Madison Square Garden, calling on voters to reject the former president’s policies.
Obama was speaking at a rally for Kamala Harris in Philadelphia on Monday night as he went after Trump and called him to speak among the speakers at his Sunday night event in New York’s largest venue.
“The man is holding this big rally at Madison Square Garden,” Obama said, noting that the warm-up speakers were “spouting the most racist, sexist, bigoted stereotypes.” One man called Puerto Rico ‘an island of garbage.’
‘These are Americans. They’re people. And that’s the reason why this election shouldn’t be close,” he continued.
‘It must be clear. Here’s a good rule: if someone doesn’t respect you, if someone doesn’t see you as fellow citizens with equal rights to opportunities. to pursuing the American dream, you shouldn’t vote for them. You shouldn’t expect them to make your life better.’
Obama was a fierce critic of Trump while campaigning for Harris. He has called out the former president for trying to kill Obamacare, for failing to properly handle the COVID pandemic and for taking credit for his economy.

Trump denied Monday that he was a Nazi after many speakers at his rally used profanity and racial slurs toward Harris
Obama called on people to “reject the politics” that Trump and his supporters presented on Sunday evening.
“Treat everyone with dignity and respect,” he told the cheering crowd. ‘Stand up for those who can’t stand up for themselves.’
Trump denied Monday that he was a Nazi after many speakers at his rally used profanity and racial slurs toward Harris.
Harris’ running mate Tim Walz compared the event to a Nazi rally.
‘I’m not a Nazi. I am the opposite of a Nazi,” Trump told thousands of supporters at Georgia Tech on Monday evening.
But the Madison Square Garden event was filled with controversial moments.
Trump’s childhood friend David Rem called Harris “the antichrist” and “the devil.” Businessman Grant Cardone told the crowd that Harris “and her pimp handlers will destroy our country.”
‘She is the devil… She is the antichrist. During her meeting last week, she said that followers of Jesus Christ are not welcome at her meetings,” Rem said.
And comedian Tony Hinchcliffe went viral after calling Puerto Rico a “floating trash island.”
‘I don’t know if you know this, but there is literally a floating waste island in the middle of the ocean right now. I think it’s called Puerto Rico,” he told the gathering.
In another lewd comment, he added, “These Latinos love making babies too. Just know that. They do. They do. There is no pulling out. They don’t. They come in. Just like they did to our country.”

Many Republicans, including Trump, rejected Hinchcliffe’s comments.
Hinchcliffe later said he was joking, noting that he is a comedian.

He was joined by Bruce Springsteen and John Legend, both of whom performed to a packed house of 10,000 people.
