Marc Anthony SLAMS Donald Trump amid racist Puerto Rico MSG rally comments as star backs Kamala Harris
Marc Anthony has criticized Donald Trump after racist jokes about Puerto Rico were made during the Republican Madison Square Garden Rally on Sunday.
The Puerto Rican superstar, 56, endorsed Democrat Kamala Harris in the US presidential election in a new video – a day after comedian Tony Hinchcliffe was criticized for labeling Puerto Rico a “floating island of trash” during the rally.
In the video, Anthony said, “I’m here to tell you that even though some have forgotten…I remember. I remember what it was like when Trump was president. I remember what he did and said about Puerto Rico…
“About our people… I remember after Hurricane Maria devastated our island… Trump blocked billions in aid… while thousands died.
“I remember when our families didn’t have clean water and electricity, Trump threw paper towels and called Puerto Rico “dirty” and “poor.” But I wasn’t surprised…

Anthony called out Trump for previous comments about Puerto Rico
“Because I ALSO remember…he launched his campaign by calling Latinos criminals and rapists. He told us what he’s going to do. He will separate children from their families and threatened to use the ARMY to do so
‘These elections go much further than political parties. Now let’s consider what the United States stands for and stands for. It’s our name: United. No matter where we come from. “I’m Marc Anthony… I remember… And that’s why I’m supporting Kamala Harris for president.”
Fellow Puerto Rico musician Bad Bunny also supported Harris by re-sharing her pledge to the country on Monday – while Jennifer Lopez – whose parents are Puerto Rican – pledged her support.
Ricky Martin, the Puerto Rican superstar with 18.6 million followers on Instagram, quickly shared a video of Harris’ appeal to Puerto Rican voters, along with a clip of Hinchcliffe’s disparaging comments.
“This is what they think of us,” Martin wrote in Spanish. ‘Vote for @kamalaharris.’
Lopez shared the same video and multiple slides showcasing Harris’ Puerto Rico policy to 250 million followers.
The video shared by Bad Bunny on Instagram shows Harris saying, “There is so much at stake in this election for Puerto Rican voters and for Puerto Rico.” A rep for the artist confirmed that Bad Bunny is supporting Harris.
The artist then shared another part of the clip in which Harris says, “I will never forget what Donald Trump did and what he didn’t do when Puerto Rico needed a caring and competent leader.”

Commenting on the meeting on Monday, Harris said: “Donald Trump spends all his time trying to get Americans to point fingers at each other, while fans are the fuel of hatred and division. And that’s why people are exhausted from him.”

Hinchcliffe accused Democrats of having “no sense of humor” after he faced an explosive backlash for calling Puerto Rico a “floating island of trash” during his appearance at Donald Trump’s rally.
Hinchcliffe, 40, took to the stage at Madison Square Garden on Sunday to make a series of jokes, including lewd and racist comments about Latinos, Jews and black people.
The jokes were typical of Hinchcliffe – a podcaster and writer known for his sharp, often dark humor and sharp roasts – but did not go down well.
Even prominent Republicans labeled his comments as “completely classless,” “racist” and “rhetoric that does not reflect the values of the Republican Party.”
However, the comedian continues to stand by his position, claiming that Democrats, including Vice President hopeful Tim Walz and Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, “ [the joke] taken out of context to make it seem racist’.
“These people have no sense of humor,” he tweeted. ‘I love Puerto Rico and my holidays there. I made fun of everyone…watch the whole set.” He then addressed Walz directly, suggesting he was wasting his time analyzing the set and couldn’t take a joke.
Hinchcliffe’s set also drew widespread condemnation from Democrats, and a string of Puerto Rican stars — including Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny and Ricky Martin — responded by endorsing Harris and sharing her plans for the U.S. territory.

Trump’s usually combative campaign also took the rare step of distancing itself from Hinchcliffe, with a senior adviser stating that “this joke does not reflect the views of President Trump or the campaign.”
Hinchcliffe has come under the most fire for the jokes he made about Puerto Rico.
‘I don’t know if you know this, but there is literally a floating waste island in the middle of the ocean right now. I think it’s called Puerto Rico,” he told the gathering.
In another lewd comment, he added, “These Latinos love making babies too. Just know that. They do. They do. There is no pulling out. They don’t. They come in. Just like they did to our country.”
The joke, which received a lukewarm response from the audience, was immediately criticized by Harris’ campaign as it competed with Trump to win over Puerto Rican communities in Pennsylvania and other swing states.
