Strictly bosses issue MAJOR update on Amy Dowden after she was forced to pull out of the show
Strictly Come Dancing bosses have issued a major update on Amy Dowden after she was forced to withdraw from the show this week.
The Welsh ballroom dancer, 34, who is believed to be in remission after her battle with breast cancer, returned to the show in September after a two-year absence.
According to The suna spokesperson said: ‘Amy Dowden MBE is doing much better and the Strictly family sends her love and wishes her well.
“She is thrilled that fellow professional dancer Lauren Oakley can fill in for rehearsals and perform in Saturday’s show for JB Gill’s Couple’s Choice dance.
“We’re all hopeful that Amy will be dancing with JB again next week.”
Amy’s mother Gillian Dowden, 65, said she had spoken to her daughter several times since her worrying backstage collapse after Saturday’s show.
At Amy’s home in Caerphilly, South Wales, the mother said: ‘We spoke on the phone today and she is doing well.’
