Influencer shamed for Diddy blackface and baby oil Halloween costume

A pair of students have been shamed online for dressing up as Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs and using baby oil for Halloween.

The man involved wore blackface for the bizarre costume, which also included a red bow tie, black blazer and white trousers.

The blonde woman he arrived with was wearing a pink sweater with an oil sign ‘Johnson’s baby’ printed on the front of her chest.

A video of the controversial costume was posted to TikTok on Sunday, following a weekend of Halloween celebrations across the country.

But it was quickly removed as the backlash started mounting almost immediately.

The woman who posted the costume, who is not believed to be the woman in the photo, attends San Diego State University in California.

The video was captioned: “How the group chat dressed up for Halloween.”

Other costumes in the video carousel included Woody and Jessie from Toy Story and Ratatouille.

Although the original video has been deleted and the woman who posted it has since deactivated or made private all of her social media accounts, it has been saved and reshared across the internet.

Critics have shared contact information for San Diego State University and are urging the public to voice their concerns about the costume.

A spokesperson for the university told DailyMail.com that they are “deeply concerned by the actions depicted and understand the seriousness of the impact this may have on others.”

“Our team is working to confirm information including the location and names and affiliations of the individuals involved.

‘We appreciate the willingness of people who have come forward to share information with the university.

“The use of blackface and any actions that make light of sexual violence are deeply offensive and have no place in a respectful, caring community.”

The spokesperson added that any behavior “that stereotypes or seeks to harm people based on race or ethnicity and ignores the seriousness of sexual violence directly contradicts our shared university values.”

While many people took offense to the costumes, others argued that they were also poorly executed.

“Apart from the blatant and despicable blackface, this is just an incredibly lazy version of Diddy,” said one critic.

“He couldn’t think of wearing all white or his signature glasses? A damn red bow tie, blazer and blackface should Diddy give?’

Another wrote: “That’s not even a Diddy outfit because all you did was blackface.”

A third person said: “Even with the black face I don’t think it would have registered to me that this was supposed to be Diddy.”

‘You can insult Diddy without being racist. He didn’t have to do blackface and everyone would have known who he was, especially with his girl as baby oil.”

Another suggested that the boy “be locked in the same cell with Diddy as punishment.”

The reference to baby oil stems from Diddy’s arrest in September, when reports surfaced that federal agents seized 1,000 bottles of baby oil from Combs’ homes in Miami and Los Angeles.

Diddy prosecutors say the oil was laced with the date rape drug GHB.

Diddy is facing a host of sex trafficking and racketeering charges after being accused of years of coercion and abuse while using blackmail and violence to control his victims.

He is also accused of inciting female victims and male sex workers to perform drugged, sometimes days-long sexual performances called “Freak Offs.”

Meanwhile, the practice of dressing in blackface has landed stars and politicians in hot water over the years.

Megyn Kelly’s NBC show was canceled in 2018 after the television host claimed blackface was okay when she was a child.

‘What is racist?’ Kelly said in a segment of her Megyn Kelly Today show.

“Because you’re going to get in trouble if you’re a white person wearing blackface on Halloween, or a black person wearing whiteface on Halloween. When I was a kid that was fine as long as you dressed up as a character.”

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also faced backlash after a photo surfaced of him wearing blackface at an Arabian Nights-themed party in 2001.
